Vikasa Taragini, Houston, Dec 2002 Meeting

We had our December meeting at Suman and Kanti Patel's home. We had a group

chanting of Guru Parampara, Lakshmi Ashtottara Shata Naamam and the Vishnu

Sahasra Naamam.

 

The chanting was followed by a talk by Padmakant Khambhati. The topic was "

Vishistadwaita Vedanta" as popularized by Sri Ramanujaachaya. He discussed

the concepts of God, Universe, Prakriti and Jeevatma. The concept of unity

(Aikya) and inseparability (Abheda) was discussed. In essence the ultimate

cause and effect are from the same Srimannarayana.

 

Recently, our children performed the Ashta Lakshmi Dance. The dance was

performed at two different events, The first event was Our Deepavali

celebrations and the second event was at Annakoot celebrations at Gujarati

Sammaj. The dance was choreographed by Geetha Donthi and Seetha Madabhushi.

The participating children are from ages 4 years to 12 years. The names of

children are as follows, Aneesha Varati, Sindhuja Karanam, Ramya

Krothapalli, Aparna Konde, Ramya Bhavaraju, Anjali Chikkula, Sandhya

Muchimilla, Arthi Kandalam, Pranay Naki and Devina Donthi. Witnessing the

performance of these children was a pleasure and full of optimism for the

future of Vikasa Tarangini.

 

It was a wonderful meeting which was followed by Parasad. Everybody thanked

Suman and Kanti Patel for their warm hospitality,
