Guest guest
Asmad gurubhyo namaha, Jai Srimannarayana >From a nameless, formless state, things with numerous varieties of forms, names have been created which are protected by paramatma. Who is He? He possesses all the kalyana gunas, which are of two types. The first type makes us take refuge in Him. These are 4 in number: va:tsalyam, swa:ithvam, sausi:lyam, saulabhyam. The second type of gunas, gives us assurance that he will fulfil our wishes when approached. These 4 are sarvajnatha – omniscient; sarvasakthitvam – omnipotent; pra:pti - inseparable relationship with all the jeevas; purnathvam – completeness in all aspects, how much ever he gives his resources never deplete. All these 8 gunas are in ‘nara:yaNa’. The first swara of Veda is the pranavam, the first letter of which is akaram, ‘ah’. This tells about maheswara who is Narayana, He is ‘rakshaka’, and He is ‘kaarana’ possessing all the eight gunas. In this pasura the gopikas pray mother to bless them with what all they want because swami is under Her control. If we know that the divine couple are our own mother and father we can demand all that we want! Amara:s means de:vatha:s who have the wealth called ‘daivam’, which is described by Bhagavan in Gita 16th chapter. Saastra is Bhagavan’s command. De:vatha:s are those who accept and abide by these commands of God causing them to be constantly blessed by Sriyahpathi. We need to be like that while living on Earth, which will help us in reaching parampadam, the freedom from cycle of births and deaths. Those who violate the Divine command are asuras who will be punished by being awarded inferior janmas, may be born even as a stone, that will let them extenuate the bad karma. So one should become pure, follow saastras. Bhagavan is a tireless farmer who works relentlessly to blossom bhakti and take it to a ripened state in His Bhaktas who are dearest to Him. All bhaktas (all of us) need to have qualities says Krishna which are described in 12th chapter of Gita 13th sloka through 19th sloka. Those who possess these 33 qualities are referred to as ‘daivi sampannas’. In Gita 9th chapter 31st sloka Lord asks Arjuna to take an oath that all devotees of Bhagavan will never slip as He is bound to the words of true devotees. Bheesma comes to our mind. An intelligent person will take a vaccination to prevent a disease/virus from attacking him. An unintelligent one waits till the virus attacks him, suffers and then takes medicines. Bhagavan is ‘sarvagna’. Hence He protects His true devotees from all troubles well ahead of time. Paramatma is ananda swarupa. For securing ananda one should depend on Him if one wants ananda. Once one is immersed in this ocean of ananda, there will not be any other desire to enjoy anything else. Once Bhagavan’s divine grace flows due to compassion onto a chetana who is completely immersed in His bhakti, both are contended and cannot live without each other. To see our face we need a mirror. Similarly we do not know our real, true self. Pranavam is the mirror which will show our ‘swa swaru:pam’ for which we need our divine mother’s compassion. We live in temperature controlled houses. When it is very cold we have heat turned on and when it is extremely hot, we have cold air blown at us. This temperature control feature in modern world keeps us comfortable and protects our physical bodies from sweat, extreme cold and extreme heat. Similarly we are constantly bothered by ‘ta:pa trayas’. What we need is a fan/air conditioner/ heater. Once ‘dvaya’ mantra also called the mantra-ratna is constantly experienced these ta:pa:s will not bother us any more. Bhagavan’s constant view is on the sins we have committed and aspires to get rid of them in the fastest way possible so that He can take us back to parampadam in the shortest time, but our divine mother, compassion personified, will cover up our sins and constantly save us from sufferings which expedites the process. Andal thinking that Krishna is unhappy that harsh words were used while addressing neela devi, praises divine mother’s astonishing beauty. andal thiruvadigale saranam, adiyen ramanuja dasaha Jai Srimannarayana!
