Guest guest
srimathe ramanujaya namaha, srimathe narayanaya namaha, jai srimannarayana Andal tells Krishna that they all became pure twice before coming to Him. They believed that Bhagavan Krishna is the upa:ya, He is the sa:dhana. Such people if they believe in other sa:dhana:s or mistaken their efforts as saadhanaas it is like touching a dead body. They are inanimate, without any strength. Then Krishna would leave them too. In the last pasura they clarified that it was not like that. According to them taking bath is going to Him. Parai means His service only. After going to Bhagavan if this jeeva aspires for other things or feels his own happiness as the goal then for Bhagavan it would be like a poisoned meal or a left over discarded food of It shows that these gopikas do not desire other things. They are making it clear here by saying that they don’t have that ‘asuddhi’. When he catches hold of Bhagavan’s lotus feet as the means, that liking for God will relieve him from other means and that liking will ignite in Him ‘thvara’. They force swami to give them parai. The parai these people ask for is swami’s nitya kaimkaryam. Their coming in the early morning, waking up all the other gopikas shows the ‘tvara’ in them. They say, “See what we are asking you. Listen.” They don’t have any other desires, they simply ask. The parai is only an excuse. They have to do this kaimkaryam. They say that they should get rid of their doshas. Krishna kept quiet. “ I gave you what all you wanted. Still you are saying parai. I don’t understand what you mean.” The gopikas accuse him, “After seeing our condition also don’t you know what we are aspiring for”. Though He is the one who sits in everyone’s heart and makes them express; being born with this tongue, one has to speak out what one desires. So they are saying, “Swami, we came to you in this Siththum siruka:lam when the sattvam is dominating and we who don’t want anything else other than you, came to you in this early morning in the fog. We came in a hurry lest we miss you. Actually you should come to us but our love forced us to you. Our salutations to you. We are doing what you were supposed to do. You went in search of sabari. We shouldn’t have come to you. We are committing all mistakes only. Pardon us. We are singing the glory of your beautiful gold lotus feet. Please listen. We do not have any desires. If it were others they will ask to wipe out their mistakes and bless them with good things." But these gopikas are praying to God to take care of their deficiencies and to take care that no amangalam happens to Him. Seeing the devotees’ jnana saundarya and deha saundarya, Krishna was spell bound. Andal is accusing Him, “ Is it to sit in your ‘seeriya simhasan’ looking at us and to sleep there.” She wants to wake up swami. In all our lives our relationship with you should not be broken. We should remain a part of yourself. We want all types of relationships with you alone. This is the parama purushardham Andal asks for”. This should be wished by all of us. We want to serve you alone with all types of services not like Bharata being away from you. We want to be with you in all places in all circumstances, doing all types of services like Lakshmana. And while doing so we should not become selfish or egoistic. Whatever doshas or other desires that come in the way of service to you should be wiped out by you alone. Thus Andal sang the purushardha called bhagavath kaimkaryam in this song. Andal divya thiruvadigale saranam! Adiyen ramanuja dasaha! Jai Srimannarayana!
