Guest guest
Sreemathe Ramanujaya Namaha! Sri Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!! Human beings are drowned in ignorance because of their past actions (karma) and there by forget their eternal relationship with Bhagavan. Consequently they fail to remember their swaru:pam which is the a:thma swaru:pam and think they are the body. This happens because of the ‘ahamka:ra mamaka:ra’ that rise due to rajas and thamas in the manas. One forgets the Almighty and imagines himself to be the ‘E:swara’ the controller. The key to realize one’s swaswarupam; to recognize Bhagavad swarupam and to reestablish the eternal association with Bhagavan - is called ‘Upa:ya’. With that ‘Upa:ya’ - to attain what is to be achieved is the purpose of life. The enemies that do not allow one to reach the goal are the ‘ahamka:ra and mamaka:ra’. We should know how to push them away. This is called ‘Jna:na’. In SriRamayana kaavya there is the story at the surface level. But at the deeper level dharma and jnana, necessary for human beings’ evolution is elucidated. Thus the kaavyam maintains two meanings - ‘vaachyaardha’ and ‘vyangyaardha’. In the vaachyaardha Rama’s story is illustrated. In the ‘vaagyaardha’ the dharma and jna:na required for human beings are explained. While dealing with the ‘Va:chya:rdha’ how the dharma and jnana are explicated will be examined. Sri Ramayan supplies all the features of kaavya, necessary for kavis. Like the mantra that is useful to give the required results to the ‘Mantra Sa:stra vettas’ Sri Ramayana helps to achieve the wanted benefits. Then only the ‘Sabda’ is enough, no need of ‘artha’. By just reading this, some wishes will be fulfilled. It illustrates morals. Thus this Sri Ramayanam appears like a ‘Mantra Sa:stra’ and as an Upanishad that exemplifies the Veda artha. So it is essential to examine it from all these aspects. Let us try to understand it to the extent possible. (Fourth sarga is concluded) To be continued... Jai srimannarayana!
