Guest guest
Jai Sriman Narayana puruShaha (star-aSwini) = puru sanOti iti puruShaha = The one who gives in abundance. poem : iraNDAm tiruvandAdi - 38 ( of Sri bUttatALwAr ) Brief interpretation : His total grace is required for fulfilling all our good wishes. Our mother LakShmi is instrumental in giving them. The one who gives them is the nArAyaNa. We on our part have to just recite His divine names. No additional effort is required from our side. Infact, this secret was disclosed by the vEda itself. Our mother just signals her wishes through the movement of her eye brows and He at once fullfills all our good wishes. And hence, the puruSha sUktam declares Him as the one and only 'puruSha'. Poem in English : 1) Not mistaking the wealth to be the protection 2) Knowing well in heart that mAdhava is our greatest wealth and our sole refuge. 3) And reciting His names with your tongue is the knowledge. Detailed Interpretation : 1) Not mistaking the wealth to be the protection : We consider that, which fulfills our wishes and removes our difficulties/dislikes as our protection. Never mistake it to be the wealth that we possess. It is only due to His bountiful grace on us. 2) Knowing well in your heart that mAdhava is the sole refuge & the greatest wealth : Knowing well that our mother SrI dEvi is instrumental in giving us the protection and our father is our sole protector ; 3) And reciting His divine names with your tongue is the vEdam : To please that Lord srIman nArAyaNa, all that we need to do is to recite His divine names with our tongue. Thats all. Just reciting His name with the tongue (even though we may not believe it in our hearts) is all we need to do. He showers all the good wealths on us bountifully. The effort on our part (if we feel so) is negligible and the results are huge and ever lasting. If this is the case with us, then what to say about those who sing His glories and names with utmost love. He makes those fortunate souls enjoy His endless glories and He finally gives Himself to them. Thats why our Lord is the one and only 'puruSha'. - The one who gives in abundance.
