Sastangadanda Pranamamulu to Sri Sri Sri Jeeyar Swami, I have translated these

from a telugu publication.These episodes are from lectures of Swamiji.

 

Different Systems:

 

Some people are habitual self-medicators. If they have some experience in the

field then, there is no problem. Some people tell the doctor to prescribe

particular medicine they indicate. They try to experiment with medicines and

study their effects and side effects. They do not distinguish between

allopathy, homeopathy, and ayurvedic. If not cured they may switch over to Homeo

or later to Ayurvedic, not necessarily in the same order. He would have no

idea of these medicines before hand, but conclude with their experiences. These

types of people are in the spiritual quest. They have some vague dis-contentment

and unspecified restlessness. They ponder over which Guru to approach and what

mantra they have to take. After some turmoil they go to one guru and take

mantra. They will wander from one guru to another guru. They do not have faith

in one guru or mantra and try to analyse and compare the benefits of mantras.

Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar swamiji also got a lot of such people. They ask him

that this mantra is not giving proper results ask him to give another mantra. He

knows no other mantra than "Narayana Mantra".
