S'shtanga pranams at the lotus feet of HH Swamivaru,

It is true that at present women do not perform Sandhyavandanam, but is it true

it was not in ancient times?

 

In Sundarakanda[14:49], Hanuman expects-

 

"Sandhya'ka'la mana'h s'ya'ma'

dhruvam eshyati Ja'naki'

Nadi'm c'ema'm s'vajala'm

sandhya'rthe varavarn'ini'"

 

My 1908 translation in Tamil by Sri S.G.Ananthacharya based on Govindarajeyam is

: "The noble Janaki will come to this pure river with her inclination for the

evening and for doing Sandhyavandana."
