Dear Bha:gavatha:s,

Jai Srimannarayan, Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Sharanam,

While attempting to read and understand the 13th chapter of Bagavadh Geetha, in

the very beginnig I am stuck with confusion about the difference between

"Kshetragna" and the soul.

Lord says in the 3rd verse, He is the Kshe:tragna in all the Kshe:tra:s

(Kshe:tragnam cha:pi ma:m vidhi sarva kshe:tre:shu Bha:ratha....). This is

perfectly corroborated in Upanishads also saying that "there are two birds

sitting on a tree...". One of them, in all the fields, as Lord says here, is

Himself and is the Knower of all the fields.

My doubt is related to the difference, if any, between soul and kshe:tragna? In

other words, when do "I" become Kshe:tragna?

Lord is Kshe:stragna, as He "knows" about all the Kshetra:s. But is the "soul"

Kshe:tragna?, or after "knowing" (...perceiving that "kshetra" is made of 24

non-sentient elements described later) soul becomes kshe:tragna?

Kindly suggest,

Jai Srimannarayan,

Ramanuja Dasa
