Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana radhekrishnaji! Yes! Lord Srirama ate meat, according to Sriramayanam. As an ordinary Kshatriya He did it. But as a good devotee, Bharatha, did not eat anything other than raw vegitables and fruits only. There are cetrain varities of meat, it seems, which an ordinary man can eat. But a devotee, is not supposed to eat it. Eating certain things is sa:ma:nya Dharma. Observing certain rules and restrictions is called vise:sha Dharma. We need to follow vise:sha Dharma. So we won't eat any meat. and then we are not supposed to compare ourselves with great people for all the things we want to do. Because, we are doing all the things they are doing, right? Somany people are debating on vegitarianism now a days, even through this group discussions also. Which is not of any use and wasting the time of somany others too. When one is committed to the acharyas, he follows whatever they dictate, without any second thought, no matter what it is. That is what we need today. We can see such a committment with ISCON people. They though born in west, meat as their regular food, once they believe the vedic concept, they just give up even drinking milk on E:ka:dasi days. That is what is needed. =chinnajeeyar= "Chennu.b.radhekrishna" Q - from ramayana Jai Srimannarayana, Respected HH chinnaJeeyar SWAMIJI, please accept my humble obeisanaces unto ur feet. =======I had a question and my friends are asking in my college that Rama had eaten meat and it is mentioned in Ramayana.Since they know that i will follow vaishnavism they asked that question to me.But I dont have clear answer.Plz clarify doubt regarding Rama really eat meat which was mentioned in ramayana....... urs humble servant, bharath radhe krishna, ______________________ ______________________ Jai Srimannarayana, Observing pitru karmas is so important. Otherwise, it will have its own impact on the family and especially in the generations down. If one did not do that so far, better to begin it now itself, which reduced the evil effects. Before chant SRi Vishnu Sahasra Nama sthothram and then if available read the first 3 chapters of Kattho:panishad. This helps the Pitrus to get saved from so many worries. =chinnajeeyar= Message: 5 Thu, 31 Jul 2003 02:18:54 -0000 "ben2162002" Q - Pitru karma Respected Sir, I want to know about this pitrukarma.
