Guest guest
Pranams to Beloved Sri.Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji: My name is T.K. Kasturi, Dallas, Texas I need your spritiual guidance and advise for the following for the daily rituals: 1. Is it O.K. to do three (3) achamanams, Karanaysam and three (3) pranayams and recite Gayatri ? or Do I need to do the entire Sandhayvandanam? In the morning times (before 6:30 a.m. I stand facing north to do pooja due to the way our pooja room is setup. Do I need to sit down to do Gayatri? 2. Do I need to do Anga Nysa Karanysa to recite Sri.Narayana Kavacham?. Right now, I am just recting the kavacha stotra and recite Sri.Laksmi Kavacham? If you have Anganysa karanysa sholkas, it will be very helpful. - Any restrictions on this? 3. My mother and sister got sharanagathi done at Parakalamutt in Mysore. If I want to get sharanagathi done here in U.S. through your ashram in U.S. - If it is O.K. can you kindly recommend person's name who initiates here in U.S. With humble pranams at your lotus feet Jai Sriman Narayana Teralandur Kasturi
Guest guest
Rugve:da Upa:karma was on 11th Aug. The Ga:yathri Japa should be done by them on 12th. Where as for Yajurve:dis, Upa:karma itself is on 12th and so they do the Japa on 13th. =chinnajeeyar= > Thu, 7 Aug 2003 05:49:21 -0600 ? It is only paying the regards and respect to the God Sun for the help He is doing to the universe at large and to us in particular. Whoever feels that, will perform Sandhyavandanam. All that changes is the manthras and slo:kas. Those who know manthras they add manthras at those offerings and those who need not chant manthras will add slokas or even they just say in thier own words and offer their gratitude by offering water etc. =chinnajeeyar= > Message: 3 > Thu, 7 Aug 2003 19:50:41 -0700 (PDT) > Srinivasaramanujan TCA > Q - Sandhyavandanam > S'shtanga pranams at the lotus feet of HH > Swamivaru, It is true that at present women > do not perform Sandhyavandanam, but is it true > it was not in ancient times? > In Sundarakanda[14:49], Hanuman expects- > "Sandhya'ka'la mana'h s'ya'ma' > dhruvam eshyati Ja'naki' > Nadi'm c'ema'm s'vajala'm > sandhya'rthe varavarn'ini'" > My 1908 translation in Tamil by Sri S.G.Ananthacharya > based on Govindarajeyam is : "The noble Janaki will > come to this pure river with her inclination for the > evening and for doing Sandhyavandana." > Adiyen Madhurakavidasan, > TCA Srinivasaramanujan ______________________ ______________________
