Guest guest
Dear Blessed Soul: This is my opinion and what I follow. First of all, I respect your bhakthi for doing sandhya vandhanam. As per my guru, one has to perform morning sandhya before sunrise, afternoon sandhya at noon , evening sandhya just before sunset. In the event, if you are not able to perform, there is a "Prayachitha", you need to perform "prayachitam Argaiya pradhanam" and utter the following: "God, i am supposed to perform this sandha at the prescribed time, today i am doing little late, pardon me. " Our relegion is a great one, and you can find answers for everything. They had a vision and well thought of before. If you think this does not answer, Here is another one. God created this universe and controls every micro acivity, all activities are HIS wish. If you get late, it is HIS wish, and we do our duty. HE always accepts with 100% smile on HIS face, whatever that you offer, and protects us ALWAYS. Lets enjoy glory of God. God Bless all of us. with humble pranams. Sridhar Kotta Your question: --------------- Our tight schedule can be very cruel to our devotional activities, specially for a fallen one like me. Adyien works in a hospital far from home. Sometimes because of the traffic, the boss and various situations, I am not able to be back in time to perform the afternoon sandhya that is VITAL for us. In this sense, What can I do when I arrive a little bit late for the regular sandhya? What could be the less harmful way? Is there a schedule tolerance for Sandhya? Guest guest
Sandhyavandana issues: For people who cannot come home for midday ie. Madhyanhikam, there are prayaschittas. You can either do it in the morning with prathah sandhya or do it in the evening before sunset. Mentally you can do prayaschitta. Most people do madhyanhikam in the morning itself. This is the practical way. And several acharyas in India have sort of OK'd this practical method. Adiyen Krishna Kashyap
