Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! An English transalation of Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji's anectodes published in "Varta" weekly. OVER SMART? Some people are under wrong notion that they are smart. They underestimate the other people. They think that they can bully and fool other people. These types of people are in all walks of life. There are instances in folklore, how the over smart people have bitten dust. One ant approached God and requested him to compensate for being made a tiny creature. No body cares or fears ant. It cannot defend itself. It does not have any weapons with it. God was willing to grant a boon. The ant wanted that her bite should kill. God cautioned and said, " You are asking a boon which is very ambitious. You ask for another boon". It insisted on the same and said my bite should kill. God said OK. The ant wanted to test its newly acquired boon. It bit a passerby and he hit that place and in the process the ant died! Whether the ant asked for the boon by being over smart or being naïve. But, It has become a curse for all ants. Similarly, One person did penance for five long years for Brahma. Finally, Brahma appeared before him. He commented that he had to wait for five long years to get his presence. Brahma explained that he did not delay, as five years of his time is equivalent to one second of him. Then that person asked how much is our one Crore is equal to. Brahma replied that it is one paise. Then he asked for Brahma’s one paise. Brahma accepted and said that he will give it in a second and disappeared. So, the man will wait for another five long years before Brahma can give him one Crore. They are lot of people who consider them highly intelligent and can trap others and try to take advantage of others. Even some sishyas will come to Jeeyar swami and try to win over him on the argument. It is no problem as long as they can consider themselves as intelligent and smart. But, at the same time considering others as gullible may land them selves in trouble like what we have seen above.
