Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! Realise and respond. www.acharyavaibhavam.org Gone are the days when outsiders, invaders etc attacked our vedic culture and tried to ruin our history. Countless temples were plundered and countless historic evidences were destroyed. The new trend is that, people - part of our culture do that. It is so strange, but recent happenings at Tirumala makes this fact clear! The destruction of age-old 1000 pillar temple recently at Tirumala is a classic example of this. Tirumala is part an integral part of our culture and existence. It has a great history and cultural importance attached to it. In 11th century, when attempts were made to cast the Lord Venkateswara as some other deity, Sri Bhagavad Ramanuja proved that it is in fact the Lord Vishnu in the form of Lord Venkateswara. He regularized the worship and other temple related activities by establishing Jeeyar Mutt and appointing qualified priests and other staff. Every inch of that place has so much to say about our tradition and culture. In 14th century again Sri Manavalamamuni renovated the temple. The temple as we see today is the result of incredible efforts put forth by our acharyas. What is happening to that now? The 1000 pillared mandapam where the kalyanam of Lord Venkateswara used to happen is now destructed few days back! The reason that was cited was that the administration there want to increase the security of the temple and to increase the facilities for the visitors. How justified is this? Not just that! The thiru veedhi (maada veedhi) where Lord was supposed to go around during special occasion (like Brahmotsavam) - was destroyed. Popular figures who do not know the basics of paancharathram or Vaikhanasa agama are making big comments and making decisions on the functionality and the maintenance of the temple. What a pitiable state! Should we keep watching it silently?? When a small unused mosque was destroyed at ayodhya, the entire nation felt for it. How about the destruction of one of the most sacred temples of our culture by the people who are not outsiders? Let us do anything that would help to stop this and preserve the sanctity and the history of our culture. Read more at: www.acharyavaibhavam.org and respond. It is our duty. Jai Srimannarayana!
