Guest guest Posted May 24, 2004 Report Share Posted May 24, 2004 http://newstodaynet.com/24may/ld1.htm Thousands of devotees witnessed the mahasamprokshanam of the Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Temple at Triplicane in Chennai that was performed today amidst chanting of Vedic hymns. The devotees, who thronged the four madaveethees around the temple and the terrace inside the temple premises, chanted the Lord's name Govinda, Govinda when the priests poured holy water on the kalasams of the temple towers. Earlier at around 2.30 a.m, devotees had viswaroopa dharshan of Sri Parthasarathy Perumal followed by kalasandhi pooja. Later, the utsav moorthies were taken around the temple prakaram and reached their respective sannadhis. The final yagasalai poojas along with Divya Prabandha sevai were performed. Mahasamprokshanam was performed for the sub-temples of Sri Rama, Sri Ranganathar, Sri Vedavalli Thayar, Sri Andal, Sri Ramanujar, Sri Manavala Mamunigal and other acharyas. An IAF glider showered petals on the temple tower. Thrithandi Siman Narayana Chinna Jeeyar and Vadikesari Azhagiya Manavala Jeeyar , Kanchipuram, were present during the ceremony. State HR & CE Minister P C Ramasamy, HR & CE commissioner G Ramakrishnan and senior officials of the department also took part in the ceremony.
