Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujayanamaha! Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!! (13th sarga #1) For Aswamedhayaga the ministers have to go personally to the individual houses of the rithviks of the yajna and escort them on elephants or horses with due respect into the royal palace. The four - Adhvaryudu, Brahma, Ho:tha, A:gni:dhrudu - have to be brought into the palace first. This has to be done on a ‘chaitra suddha pu:rnima’ day. Again, on a new moon day the same have to be invited and ordained to perform an ‘Ishti’ by name ‘Sanjnaaneshti’. Later on a full-moon day of Vaisakha masa other than the earlier fixed rithviks - Maithraavarunudu and Prathiprasthaatha - two more rithviks have to be brought respectfully on elephants. On the new moon day of Vaisakha masa the ‘Udgaatha’ has to be honoured and be brought boarded on an elephant. One year passes thus and the ‘deeksha’ starts on the full moon day of the following Vasanth rithu. On each day of the following three days, remaining eight rithviks have to be escorted to the place. Another eight rithviks – Braahmanaacchamsi, Aachchaavaakudu, Nae:shta, Prathihartha, Graavastuthudu, Po:tha, Unne:tha and Subrahmanyudu have to be ordained. In total there would be sixteen rithviks, the first being the Brahma and the last one would be Subrahmanyudu. To be continued... Jaisrimannarayana!! Ramanujamma Mudumbai,rd.
