Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! Sri Jeeyar thiruvadigalle sharanam. Dasoham. My name is Srikant, from India. Of late, I have been browsing through articals regarding Salagrama and was not able to get clarity on the following issues: 1.In some books like garuda purana it is written that some salagrama shilas bring agony and disasters like untimely death to the worshipper and hence should not be worshipped.Similarly, some (like ugra narasimha) are meant only for yathis and not householders. But in other books it is written that a salagrama shila should not be examined and any form of the shila can be worshipped ( even when not got from elders). Both the statements look contrast. 2.It is mentioned that salagrama should never be bought. But, it is not possible for many people, who are desious of worshipping that form of lord, to go to Gandhak river or get salagram as a gift from others. So, can we just give the amount as a donation to the shop and take the lord (salagrama)? 3.In the same web-sites on salagrama, I found some information regarding Govardhan Shila and Dwaraka Chakra, regarded most holy by gaudiya vaishnavas. Do they hold the same status in our sampradaya? Is puja done to them? I pray humbly to all the learned and pious swamis to kindly clarify my doubts, regardless how small and insignificant the doubts maybe. Sri Jeeyar thiruvadigalle sharanam.
