Purpose: If you find yourself wondering what could be happening in

Tirumala,

you're not alone. Many people don't realize the magnitude of destruction

occuring at the temple.

The TTD is destroying many historical sites in the name of their "Master Plan".

The following paragraphs very briefly summarize what is going on.

 

The TTD was established to maintain and monitor the Lord Venkateswara Temple at

Tirumala.

However, misguided by their Agama Scholars, the TTD began a long term project

intended

to "better" the temple. Instead, the project is destroying centuries old

structures and removing

our heritage. Many of these sites have been tossed on the ground, and the calls

of nature

are destroying the sanctity of these demolished structures.

 

Not only is the TTD demolishing structures, but it is also constructing new ones

against what is written in the ancient scriptures. A new "Mahaprakaram" is being

built,

under the assumption that it is the third one. If this were the case, then the

TTD

would be following the scriptures, which is exactly what they are supposed to

do.

However, can the current administration and their Agama scholars be so arrogant

as to think that the temple was not only built with a flaw, but that in the

centuries

since its completion no one has realized the flaw? Please, let us have more

faith in our ancestors than that?

 

The TTD needs to realize that the "Master Plan" is incorrect and must take the

steps necessary to restore

Tirumala to its former glory, so that future generations may experience the true

sanctity of the temple!

Seven Demands To Save the Tradition at Thirumala

========================================

1. We don't need facilities created at the cost of history and heritage of

Tirumala.

Thirumalai should not be converted as picnic spot for the tourists.

 

2. Stop all demolitions and new constructions which are against to the tradition

and heritage.

 

3. Front portion of the temple of Venkatadri hill should be restored to its

previous

glory along with thousand pillared mandapam and all structures of heritage that

are

removed should be restored and reconstructed as they were.

 

4. Unorthodoxical practices and lacunas in " usages and customs " should be

stopped at once.

 

5. TTD should put an end to all the activities that are against the system laid

down by Purvacharyas.

This is hurting the sentiments of millions of devotees.

 

6. Interference into the affairs of T.T.D by the persons of other denominations

who so ever should not be allowed at any cost, AT ANY LEVEL.

 

7. Protective Mechanisms should be immediately institutionalised to the temple,

to the deity and to the traditions.
