It is sad to see what is going in Tirumala-Tirupathi which has been well expressed in the past few JET emails i have read. Now is the time to see what we as devotees want to do abou it. We can leave it to Lord Balaji to do what is to be done to correct it all or for the devotees and Acharyas like our beloved Chinajeeyer swamiji to do waht we should do as citizens of a free country. We need to tell the TTD and the govt. of AndhraPradesh that the devotees aim is to see Lord Venkateswara in devotion that is not disturbed by all the push and pull that happens on the 7 hills. If they want to destroy our heritage of hundreds of years, we need to protest in person in big numbers as democracy is where people are heard and their wishes followed. Hindus are still majority in India and and we are a formidable force if we want...those of us from US are more privileged in our resources and should and can do a lot...so we should do it...every visit I make to Tirupathi makes me wonder why I go there as it has become a mere ritual and ends up with a lot of disappointment with all the planning we end up making to visit Tirupathi..and it is not for lack of 5 or 6 star hotels..it is lack of respect for devotees by pushing them in lines and the attitude of workers that want only your money..Visiting Pittsburgh or our local temple brings more peace of mind . I become angry when I come out of the temple in Tirupathi and wonder why I came in the first place to Tirupathi..For these wrong (?right) reasons, I did not go to Tirupathi during my last visit to India. If a lot of us stop going there, does that bring a change in the TTD administrators' attitude? Is this Apacharam on our part to think like this? That is what the reason probably is why nobody does anything and that makes the TTD brave to do what they please..so it is time to decide what is right and what is wrong... This kind of treatment will not work in Private practice/ Enterprize of anykind in USA ans possibly any where in the world...Let us follow what OUr Acharya tells us to do...
