Vaasishta called Sumanthra and instructed him to invite all the kings on this

earth to the yaga. "Invite all the righteous ones, brahmins, kshatriyas, vaisyas

and su:dra:s from the four corners of the kingdom. In the first instance invite

Janaka, the king of Mithila. He is an erudite scholar of all sasthras and vedas.

Heh! Sumanthra! he is an old associate of ours. So you have to go there and

personally accompany King Janaka here with due respect. Kasiraja

is a dear friend and an affectionate associate of our king. He needs to be

personally accompanied too. You personally go and escort our king’s father-in-

law King Kaekaya who is highly righteous and mellowed of age and his

son too. You bring our king’s dear revered friend Romapada with due honours. Not

only that, you extend invitation to all the kings of Sindh and Souvira on the

east and to all the kings in the south. There are many more kings who respect

and love our king. Call them all along with their friends and relatives.”

 

As per Vasishta’s instruction, Sumanthra  started his mission of inviting and

escorting all the kings personally. All the volunteers who were assigned

specific tasks informed Vasishta about successful completion of the same.
