Guest guest
Priya Sriman Harishji ! Jai Srimannarayana! Vedas talk about one Supreme God Lord Vishnu. There are a number of demigods who constitute His vast administration. Vedas clearly declare many a time that the Supreme monarch is Lord Vishnu only. However one should remember that it is He who receives everything through them. All those who read Puranas etc., try to please demigods and get the instantaneous benefits rather than serving the God who is actually the ultimate cause and the controller of even the demigods. It means that they did not realize the Vedic declarations. For example, though it is the cashier in the bank who gives us or takes cash or money from us, the money is actually controlled by the Manager of the bank. However, this is a very trivial example as the employees may not work for the bank 100%. But, demigods serve their master perfectly. We should know the Supreme and do every service as instructed by Him through His administration, not because we have to please the employees, though it is they who handle the transactions, but because we are physically limited to that rule as set by Him. We should worship the Supreme through the worship of demigods, in the way it has to be done, as ordained by Him (not because we like or dislike someone). We worship every demi god as a form of Lord Vishnu only. One who do not realize this fact, thought that pleasing demigods by worship is enough and that is the end. It is true that demigods too might give us benefits within the limited domain they have, but, the owner is He, an 'unquestionable one' who should ultimately receive and give the result even through the demigods. If we worship Him directly, in the way He loves, is there any need for us to worship demigods and please them separately ? But, we DO worship them with great respect and honour, as His representative and His subject. We are supposed to do what He ordained, if we really Love Him and realize Him. Hence it is wrong to say that Vedas need not be followed. Puranas and other scriptures exaggerate about demigods to make those who Love them to serve them, worship them better and thus take the right track soon, to realize the Supreme. Hence, we always accept anything from Puranas that is not against to what Vedas declare, in understanding the Truths. Satvik puranas like Bhagavatham, Vishnu Puranam are those which in their original form are undistorted and in tune with what Vedas declare, without any deviations or exaggerations. It is upto you to take water, fish, grass, sand, pebbles, pearls or just salt ! from the sea. Because you took something, you just can't deny others or totally avoid using the sea !! Jai Srimannarayana ! =Chinnajeeyar= > <harish_subramanian> > why do the vedas and puranas extoll > the worship of demigods,if the > supreme god is Maha vishnu, what is > the need to worship any other god. > So does that mean following vedas > is unnecessary (as other gods being > extolled)?
