Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Humble pranam to all devotees: Today is Kaisika Ekadasi, a sacred day for the devotees of the Lord. Devotees fast that day and listen to the glories of the LORD. Every year this falls on Karthikai masam, Shukla paksha Ekadasi day. ============================================= You can hear the Kaisika Puranam On-Line at http://www.vedics.net for the next few days. ============================================= This full incident is narrated by the LORD (Lord Varaha) to Bhoomi Piratti and is in the Kaisika Puranam. This Puranam is in the 48th chapter of Sri Varaha Puranam, explains and emphasizes the importance of singing LORD Sriman Narayana's glory. The main incindent is of Nabaduvan being confronted by a Brahma rakshasa. This Rakshasa used to be a Brahmin by the name of Soma-Sharma. He committed some grave mistakes during a Yagam and got the curse by which he became a Brahma rakshasa. On every Kaisika Dwadasi day, Nambaduvan, an ardent devotee of the Lord used to sing for Lord at Thirukurungudi. One year while on the way to Thirukurungudi, Nabaduvan is confrontated by the Brahma Rakshasa. The dialogue between the two and how the Rakshasa allows for Nabaduvan to go to sing for the LORD and then come back, for the Rakshasa. After coming back how Nabaduvan saved the Rakhasa from the curse. After many thousands of years, On a Kaisika dwadasi day Sri Parasara Bhattar (about 900 yrs ago) chanted the Kaisiki Puranam before Lord Ranganatha (with his vyakhyanam (explanations). Lord was immensely pleased and this chanting as rendered by Sri Parasara bhattar has become a tradition in Srirangam. To this day the direct descendants of Sri Parasara Bhattar Swami chant Kaisika Puranam on Kaisika dwadasi day to the LORD at Srirangam. ================================================= Please inform your friends and familes. ============================================= You can hear the Kaisika Puranam On-Line at http://www.vedics.net for the next few days. ============================================= Ramanuja Adiyargal
