Srimathe: Ramanujaya namaha!

Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!!

While in this body, if we perform the yajna that has to be done with this body,

then Lord would appear to the sathwik forces of our mind – the ‘devathas’. In

other words the all pervading Bhagavath Thathvam would appear in each and every

thing. Now the Bhagavan would not be away, would come as ‘nara’. Bhagavan is

called ‘nara’ because he dwells as antaryami in the athma of the body, which is

called ‘nara’. Attaining this stage is getting the result of the yajna. The

emergence of Vishnu in the congregation of yajna is described here to explain

this. SriRama is Sri Mahavishnu alone. It becomes clear to us that he took

incarnation to end Ravana on listening to the prayers of the celestials.

“ aethasmin anthare: vishnurupaya:tho: maha:dyuthihi

sankha, chakra, gada: pa:Nihi peetha vaasaa jagathpathihi |

In no time, bearing the divine conch, maze and the discuss in his hands, wearing

the pithambaram (yellow silk cloth) and resplendent with immense energy, the

Almighty Vishnu came to the devathas. When we regard this sloka as a literary

work every word abounds with great meaning.

Brahma announced that a human alone could kill Ravana. If any of the devathas

declare that they would come as humans to kill Ravana, then they would be in

danger. Or otherwise if Ravana gets to know the happenings through his spies,

then he would end all these devathas. To show us that Sri Mahavishnu came there

at once being worried about these possibilities,

‘aethasmin anthare:’ = just at that instant

‘vishnuh upaya:thah’ = ‘the all pervading’ came close.

We know that Bhagavan is present everywhere. We get a doubt how is it reasonable

to think - that who is present everywhere ‘has come close’. This doubt is

cleared by these two words.

(to be continued...)

Jai Srimannarayana!
