Thus when SriMahavishnu sat in the yajna ‘sadass’ all the devathas offered their

salutations and praised him thus: “Oh! Vishnu! We are all requesting you to kill

Ravana for the well being of all. The king of Ayodhya is a righteous ruler. A

benevolent donor. In his resplendence he is equal to maharshis. He is eligible

to be your father. His wives Kausalya, Sumithra and Kaikeye resemble Hree, Sree

and Kirthi. We are requesting you to be born in four ways to those three women

as a son. You become a human and wipe off that torturer of the universe. Ravana

cannot be killed by devathaas. He tormented even the rishies, gandharvas and the

apsarasas. We are seeking refuge at your feet along with the devathas,

gandharvas and yakshas.

 

Lord! You alone are the means and the Saviour. You have to intend to take birth

in the human world.” Listening to them Vishnu assured them all, “All of you

forget your worry. Feel secured. I will kill Ravana with his sons, grand sons,

relatives and friends for terrorizing the devathas and the rishies. I will be

ruling for eleven thousand years in the ‘bhu:lo:ka’”.

 

After granting the boon Vishnu decided where he should take birth. The Lotus

eyed SriMahavishnu decided that he should be born as four sons to Dasaratha and

accept him as his father. Knowing his intention they prayed to him – Kill Ravana

who is tormenting the noble and the rishies; rule this earth and please return

to your lo:ka.”
