Srikrishna Parabrahmane: Namaha!

Sri Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!!

A yogi who conquers the senses and focuses the mind steadily on Bhagavan would

get ‘siddhis’. Then Uddhava questioned Bhagavan to explain to him what type of

‘dha:rana’ is required for achieving the ‘siddhis’.

Bhagavan is explaining about the siddhis :--

Whoever knows the yoga prakriya confirm that there are 18 siddhis. Among them 8

siddhis aim at attaining Me (Bhagavan) as the prime goal. The rest of them would

attach one to the earthly bonds.

Those Siddhis are:

1. ANima --- Body becomes minute.

2. Mahima --- Body becomes huge. (gigantic)

3. Laghima --- Body becomes light.

4. Garima --- Body becomes heavy.

5. Pra:pthi --- the yogi gets connected to all the jiva:s' experiences

6.Pra:ka:dyumu --- Excel all others in the faculties like hearing and seeing

etc.

7.I:Sithvam --- Possessing the power to make others behave in the manner one

thinks or wants them to, in all the matters.

8.VaSithvam --- Even while being among the worldly pleasures, one will not have

attachment to them. One who gets to this state will not have desire for

anything. All the pleasures or happiness would merge in him only.

These eight siddhis would naturally come to one who does ‘yoga sadhana’. They

use them to reach ‘Me’ alone.

They would also get other powers that strengthen the bondages of attachment

with this ‘samsaara’.

( We shall know about them in the next posting….)

Jai Srimannarayana!

Ramanujamma Mudumbai, ramanuja dasi.
