Guest guest
An appeal on behalf of the Kanchi PBA Swamy Trust.... Sri U.Ve. Mahavidwan PRATHIVADHI BAYANKARAM ANNANGARACHARIAR ,was born in the year 1891 in the tamil month Panguni on the star Visagam. He is one of the lineal descendants of Sri Prathivadhi Bayankaram Anna, who is one of the Ashta Dig Gajas of Sri Manavala Mamunigal. Sri PBA Swami's service to the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam is uncomparable and indeed he is a towering personality in the spiritual world of today. Though Swami is not with us now, yet he is alive not only in the form of his books but also in the hearts of all Srivaishnavas who are delivering sampradya discourses. It is the Swami's works and contributions which stands as a pillar to the Ramanuja Darshanam. His contributions to the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam is so high that it is beyond words and thoughts . He has written around 1200 books in different languages viz. Sanskrit, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. This is a remarkable achievement of Sri PBA Swami, this shows that he is personification of knowledge and he can even be regarded as incarnation of Sri Ramanuja and Sri Manavala Mamunigal. The entire Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam is indebted to this great personality. It was Swami who alone , had written commentaries on the works of the four great Acaryas, - Ramanujar, Nampillai, Vedanta Desikar and Manavala Mamunigal. His services to Sampradayam was not limited to books, he started an Veda Patasalai and was instrumental in bringing up many Sri Vaishnavas in the vedic field. PBA Swami had constructed a separate temple ,Close to Sri Varadaraja Swami Temple at Kanchi, where in he had installed the idols of the great Acaryas - Nampillai, Vadaku Thiruvidhi Pillai and Periya vacahan pillai , (three Acaryas had made commentaries to Bagavat Vishayam) .This temple reflects Sri PBA Swami's great affection and high respect for the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam. Even today this Shrine is looked after by his son Sri U.Ve. PB Ranganathachariar Swami, and annual festivals are duly celebrated in this temple. >From his 60 years of age, Swami celebrated his birth day for ten days. He took his birthday as an opportunity to honor the Sri Vaishnavas , and conducted Seva kalam (Nallayira Divya Prambandam recitation ) and Veda Parayanam. Discourses, Stotra Pada Goshti He also served the Sri Vaishnavas with Thadiyarathanai (Feedding all srivaishnavites participating in function) for all the ten days. In the year 1983 in the tamil month Aani , Swami attained the Acaryan's Tiruvadi. The ardent disciples of Sri PBA Swami had formed a Trust in the year 1984 in order to continue the Birthday Celebration .The trust collected a corpus fund and the interest from that fund was utilized for Swami's Tirunakshatram celebration. Since the rates of interest had gone down it has become difficult to conduct the function in a befitting manner. Hence the Trust has made an appeal to Sri Vaishnavas interested in participating in this noble cause which is indeed a way to express our gratitude to Sri PBA Swami for his remarkable service to our Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam.
