Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujayanamaha| Sri Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam|| (16th Sarga) Srimannarayana again spoke to the devathas thus: “I will be born in the human world but tell me whether I should be with my own form as in the Va:mana Avathara or have a different form? Advise me how I should be to get Ravana killed.” Then all of them replied, “You be in a human body and be a human being and kill Ravana. Earlier Ravana did severe penance and requested Brahma who was very much pleased with him that he should not get death at any living being’s hand. Thinking it was lowering his dignity of valour, he did not mention about the human beings in his boon. Brahma granted him all that he asked for. Ravana became very arrogant with the power of those boons and has been torturing the three worlds. He would get his end by a human being only.” Srimahavishnu listened to their words and decided to take birth as a human, informed he was leaving and vanished. At that time, from the altar of the holy fire of Dasaratha’s ‘Putrakaameshti’, there emerged a divine being with unimaginable resplendence. He was valiant and awfully strong. He wore red and black garments; his face was red, his voice resembled ‘dundubhi’, his hair was like that of a lion, he was decorated in divine ornaments, his height was comparable to a mountain peak, and in valor he was like a proud tiger and was brilliant like the glowing flames of fire. He was as resplendent as the sun. This yajna purusha emerged from that ritual fire holding a golden vessel in his hands. (To be continued..) Jai srimannarayana! Ramanujamma Mudumbai, Ramanuja dasi.
