The temporary kitchen had been put up using tin sheets. Temple sources told newspersons that the fire broke out after embers from one of the giant ovens in the kitchen, making laddu prasadam, ignited layers of evaporated ghee and remains of some other ingredients on the walls. The labourers quickly ran out, switched off the main LPG supply lines and doused the flames by pouring water, the sources said. The kitchen is situated close to the western wall of the temple.
