Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Some Srivaishnavas came to Bhattar and told him that "thondanUr nambi thiruvadich sArndhAr" - that is, Thoondanur Nambi had reached the Lord's divine feet. Bhattar replied "Thondaur Nambi had great devotion to bhAgavatas and performed all kinds of services to Srivaishnavas. Respecting that, we should be saying 'thirunAttukku nadandhAr' - that is, he has reached the Lord's divine abode". Here, Bhattar is emphasizing that the Lord's divine abode is great because that is where all His devotees are present. And, that it is appropriate to say that one who spent his lifetime in the service of bhAgavatas went to the place which is filled with His devotees. A similar incident is recorded at another place. Some devotees told Bhattar "nambi ERu thiruvudaiyAn dAsar thirunAttuku nadandhAr". Bhattar replied "Nambi performed great service to Srivaishnavas. To respect that, we should be saying 'thirunAttukku ezhundharuLinAr'". That is, when talking about the Lord's devotees, the most respectful terms should be used.
