Guest guest
Sri Raghunandana Parabrahmane namaha! Srimathe Ramanujayanamaha!! (17th sarga - 1 to 16 slokas) After Sri Maha:vishnu decided to come to this world as son to noble Dasaratha, Brahma spoke to the devathas thus: “Sri Maha:vishnu is virtuous and valiant. He always wishes for our well being and executes for our welfare. Such Maha:vishnu is taking incarnation. So you all procreate male descendents with your amSaas (elements), who will be ‘kaamaru:pi:s’ (able to transform their physical forms as per their wishes), fast like wind, intelligent and invincible to enemies. Let them be born as ‘va:nara:s’ - to Ruksha, Vidyaadhara and Kinnara ladies – with mighty bodies, supreme intelligence and shrewd outlook. Earlier I (Brahma) had created a Ruksha king Jambavan with my ‘amsa’. Once when I yawned, he emerged from my mouth. All of you too, with your individual amSaas create your offspring in vaanara forms in this world.” Being instructed by Brahma thus, all the celestials - the devathas, rushies, siddhas, vidyadharaas and chaaranas created countless vanaras in this world with their AmSaas. Indra created Vali as vanara king, with his power who was equal to him in strength. The Sun god created Sugri:va; Brihaspathi, the well – mannered vanara ‘Thaara’ ; Kubera’s son was another vanara by name Gandhamadhana. Viswakarma’s son was Nala and Neela was Agni’s son. He was almost like the god of Fire. He excelled other vanaras by virtue of his radiance, energy, strength, fame and valor. Aswini devathas created two vanaras - Mainda and Dwivida who were beautiful and wealthy. Varuna (rain god) and Parjanya (thunder god) created Sushe:nN and Sarabha respectively. Hanumantha is Vayu’s son. His body is indestructible like a diamond, he is equal to Garuda in swiftness. Thus to assist SriRama in eliminating Ravana, many thousands of valiant and strong vanaras were born with the devatha amSaas. (To be continued...) Jai Srimannarayana! Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!!
