Guest guest
adiyen, This is a very good question. Of all daanams Vidya Daanam is the greatest! adiyen thinks this is not justified at all. We devotees am sure can face the atrocities in Tirumala. Plasma TVs, A/C, recreational parks, and all comforts will hinder the experience of God. Tirumala is not a picnic spot. We are not going to tirumala to eat masala vadai or dosai or nacho cheese with popcorn while sitting in the park. Am sure most devotees will agree if we know how 100 crores can transform our society. What we need is a huge Vedic University, similar to the olden days in gurukul fashion. This university supports boarding, lodging. Let us say it costs 50,000 ruppees to support each student (boarding, loding, operational overhead, parental support, travel etc). Twenty thousand, yes 20,000 students (20K) can be taught our saastras with this amount. Imagine 20,000 kids dieing of no money, food, education are now healthy, chanting Vedas for world peace in 10 to 12 years time. TTD has the capacity to change the world we live in. Each student in turn would be role model for thousands of children after graduation. Veda has the power to transform the society. Veda has the power to decrease the effect of kali. Veda has the power to elevate us all. Veda has the power to bestow everything we need. So why is TTD spending 100s of crores of ruppees on parks, disney worlds, rope-ways, ropeless-ways, kalyana matapams, unncessary destruction in the name of renovation projects etc etc etc? Let us all pray Sri,Bhu sametha Thiruvegadamudayan and our acharyas to bestow some sense of kainkaryam and the right service in the brains of the officials of TTD. Let us pray that they don't become money crazy and let us pray they they spend every single penny of the Lord with utmost care and for the most useful projects. adiyen. > New facilities to come up at Tirupathi > T MURUGANANDHAMTirumala, May 20: > > The Venkatachalapathy temple, India's most popular > place of worship, is set for a make-over. Guest guest
All devotees We need to preserve the culture and tradition including vedic heritage for next generations to come. What we need is a revival of Hinduism in lines of various preachers like Shankaracharya and other great acharyas. While we have to spend money for idols and worships for symbols, one has to look for the preservation and meaning behind it. Instead of spending 100 crores on parks, the same can be taught for imparting and teaching of Vedas. I believe that we have to get the knowledge to this generation with a view to give in heritage to the next generation. Spend those amounts in making vedas available on computers, digitalize enchanting so that it can be played on computers etc. Vasu Murthy New York

Guest guest
Jai Sri Krishna, I totaly agree with this post, i live in the uk and many of us here young and old do not have a clue about our shastras and the works of GENUINE purvacharays such as Srimath Ramunja. Right thorugh our history great MahaBhagavatas have taken steps to make the vedas more easy for us commomers to understand. Vyasadev complied puranas, Alavars transmitted the essense of the upnishadic teachings in Tamil...this needs to continue. Hindus are a global poeple now, were Technology and English is the main means of communication. I have great interest in The philosophy of Ramanuja, alavars and Vishitadvatiam, however most of this knowledge is available to people of India and largely those of sourthern origin, so Being a British Hindu with a very simple understanding of Hindi/Gujerati a lot of this knowledge contained in Tamil and sanskrit is hard for me to understand. Why doesnt the TTD make efforts to transmitt the works of Alwars, Ramanuja and Annamacharya, the poeple outside South India and in the West! The great Alavars Very mercifully imparted the vedic knowledge in Divya Prandhanam, which became so popular in the south. However i do not find much point in attemptin to sing the original verses of Prabhandhan, as they are in Tamil, a language so alien to me, a British Born Gujerati. vscholars should now take efforts to have these works translated into Hindi, sanskrit and Gujerati so that We northern Hindus can sing these Great Verses in Languages we are familiar with. My beleifs proba;y lean more towards Ramanujacharya than Chaitnaya, but i am greatly Impressed my the work of Sri Prabhupada and ISKCON, who have spend so much time and moeny in making the Geeta and bhagavata, available to us western people. I have gained so much Knowledge about our Dharma, shastras and Bhakti, due to the effortd of Gaudiya Bhakthas making these things availale in Enlgish, the language i have the most knowledge in!!! The TTD should STOP making a disney Land and comercial enterprise of the The holy Thiruvenkatam Dhama ...the world is has too many themeparks and is envoloped my comercial devolpment... So keep it out of our holy places and intead take a page put of ISKCONs book and start works which will spread Bhakthi and gyana all over the world!!!!!!! Guest guest
JAI SRIMANNARAYANA! THE IDEA OF DOING SOMETHING TO PROMOTE SAMPRADAYAM OR SATIATING THE THURST OF SEEKERS COME, WHEN ONE HAS THE REAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE PHILOSOPHY OF ACHARYA RAMANUJA. SIMPLY SAYING THEIR NAME AND PLAYING THEM WILL NOT DO ANY HELP. THERE ARE MANY SCHOLARS AVAILABLE TODAY, RATHER THAN THE PUNDITS WITH GOOD HEART. PROTECTING THE RIGHT DHARMA OF RAMANUJA IS THE NEED OF THE DAY, THAN DEMANDING MORE JEWELLARY. BUT WHO CARE YOUR CRIES. LET US PRAY TO GOD ONLY, TO INSPIRE SOME HEARTS TO WORK FOR HIM. YOU, AT THIS JUNCTURE, CANNOT EXPECT ANYTHING GOOD FROM TTD. WE DO NOT KNOW, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW. LET US BE OPTIMISTIC. LET LORD SRINIVASA, GIVE US SOME STRENGTH TO WORK FOR HIM AS HIS DIVINE HANDS DO. =Chinnajeeyar= QUESTION) PARAMA POOJANEEYA SWAMI JI SPAREMA SAVINAYA PRANAAM NOW A DAYS THE MONEY IS BEING COLLECTED FROM THE SISHYAS TO MAKE ORNAMENTS TO THE VIGRAHAS BY SOME OF THE MATATHIPATHIS. Guest guest
JAI SRIMANNARAYANA! AS YOU SAID, THE LITERATURE, REVEALING THE GREATNESS OF ACHARYA RAMANUJA AND HIS PHILOSOPHY, IS NOT MADE AVAILABLE TO MANY SEEKERS, AS OTHERS DID. NOW THE WORK SLOWLY STARTED TAKING A SHAPE. YOU NEED TO WAIT FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND YOU CAN GET A LOT OF STUFF TO SATIATE YOUR THURST, OK!! =Chinnajeeyar= Re: Is this really needed and justified? 100s of crores being spent by TTD Jai Sri Krishna, I totaly agree with this post, i live in the uk and many of us here young and old do not have a clue about our shastras and the works of GENUINE purvacharays such as Srimath Ramunja.
