Guest guest
Jai srimannarayana swamiji please accept my humble obeisances to your lotus feet. I read one sloka in Brahma Samhita .I don't know sanskrit . can you please tell me the meaning of this sloka " Ramadi-murtisu kalaniyamena tisthan: " Regards Vijay ANS: THIS IS NOT A FULL SLOKA. THIS IS ONLY A PART OF SOME SENTENCE. "RA:MA:DI MU:RTHISHU KA:LA NIYAME:NA THISHTTAN" ":" THIS INDICATES LONG VOWEL. AS THE LINE GOES, THE MEANING IS "ACCORDING TO THE NEED OF THE HOUR, THE LORD, ACCEPTING THE FORMS LIKE THAT OF RA:MA", THIS IS THE MEANING. BUT THERE MAY BE SOMETHING BEFORE AND AFTER. ACCORDING TO THAT TEXT, IT LOOKS LIKE 'THE LORD ALWAYS WILL BE IN THE FORM OF SRI KRISHNA ONLY, OCCASIONALLY COMES INTO DIFFERENT INCARNATIONS AND AFTER WITHDRAWING THEM, HE AGAIN GOES BACK AS SRI KRISHNA ONLY'. It is according to that Brahma Vaivartha Purana, we think. =chinnajeeyar=
Guest guest
Namaste! I respectfully offer the following information in addition to the answer given by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. The Brahma Samhita is a scripture that is particularly emphasized in the Gaudiya sampradaya. They say that Chaitanya Maha:prabhu heard the Brahma-Samhita: being discussed at the A:di-Keshava temple during one of his pilgrimages to southern India, and that he copied the Fifth Chapter and brought it back north, where he propogated it to his followers. It was commentated by Jiva Goswami, one of his scholarly disciples and successors, and has been commentated and translated by other scholars and acharyas in their lineage, and published by several different current-day organizations in their lineage, including ISKCON among several others. The full verse (shloka 39) is: Ra:ma:di-mu:rtishu kala:-niyamena tishthan Na:na:vata:ram akarod bhuvaneshu kintu / Krsnah svayam samabhavat paramah puma:n yo Govindam a:di purusham tam aham bhajami The following English translation is that of Swami B.A. Sagar Maharaj of the Sri Chaitanya Sarasvata Matha, under the guidance of that Matha's acharya (Srila B.S. Govinda Maharaja): "The Lord has shown in the world many Avata:ras such as Ra:ma, by expanding His Plenary Expansions and Expansions of those Expansions anon; and He, Krsna, also came personally- that Primeval Lord Govinda do I worship."
