Guest guest
At the Lotus Feet of H.H.Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji! Jaishrimannarayana! The divine bliss we had recieved during 'Acharya Seva Yatra' to this town in Orissa - Khurda Road (Jatni) - still surrounding us and we are still imbibed by the first ever visit by SWAMI to this place. I would like to know whether the 'Yoga' practices being propagated by Swami Ramdevji are so powerful that there is no requirement of surgeries or any other treatment for the diseases like even Heart Attacks. Ramdevji preaches that practicing Bhastrik, Kapal Bhati, Anulom/Vilom and Bhramara Pranayams regularly one can get rid of Blocks in the heart even to the extent of 100%. Is it possible, Swamiji? Mine is the case of Unstable Angina and DVD, whose Angiograph suggested 80% block in D1 and 90% block in RCA. Doctors at Cardiac Unit at Railway Hospital, Perambur advised me to undergo PTCA (Angio Plasty. I would like to obtain SWAMI's views on "Yoga" and 'Medication" , for the enlightenment of all of us. Eagerly waiting for 'SWAMY's visit to this place again, Jaishrimannarayana! Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! Can Yoga be a cure for cardiac problems? Can Yoga be used in place of Cardiac surgery? Each case is different and has to be examined by experts and remedies prescribed according to the idiosyncrasy. There is no ‘one cap fits all sizes’ panacea. Let there be no doubt, however, that Yoga when done right, especially as Yoga therapeutics, it can work wonders. There are several disclaimers. First, Yoga is not all exercise and breathing, it is a way of life. A majority of humans, for instance, are accustomed to paradoxical breathing, inflating the stomach when exhaling and deflating it when inhaling. This will starve the trillions of cells in the body of oxygen. In other words, most of us have to learn to breathe right in the first place, leave alone cure heart problems. This alone can restore health. Talking of life style changes, can those persons with cardiac problems, for example, give up fried food stuff completely? Can they restrict calorie consumption to about 1300 calories or less, a day? Can they say emphatically NO when second helpings are offered? Can they keep the body weight low enough hold back Body-Mass-Index to 24 or less? Will they accept life-style change prescriptions and practice yogic exercises with the same diligence as they would take a medical doctor’s prescriptions of drugs and medicines? When Yoga is practiced under expert supervision and is followed consistently it can do wonders such as devastate cancer cells, restore cardiac health, activate pancreas and reduce blood sugar (diabetes) and lot more. We should avoid surgery at the drop of hat and it should be the very last resort when alternative cures fail. Yoga is a lot more successful when people start practicing it a long before a major health problem develops. But human nature being what it is, they will go for preventive methods only after problems show up. And then in a hurry, they go for remedies. People wake up only after a shocking event occurs, and after a couple of surgeries. Till then, they think, they can enjoy the good things of life endlessly and God will bail them out of their karmas. (In lighter vein,) what is nirhetuka kripa, after all? Adiyen, Sri Ramanuja dasa, Sudhanva Char
