Guest guest
Sri Raghunandana ParabrahmaNe: Namaha! Srimathe: Ramanujayanamaha!! (19th Sarga) Valmiki says thus: “Heh! Lion among kings! Your words suit you alone. No one else can speak like this. You are born in a great dynasty. You are trained by Vasishta. You spoke in a befitting manner. I will let you know the purpose of my visit. You have to keep up your words. I have undertaken a yajna to attain ‘siddhi’. There are two demons creating hurdles in its progress with their power of donning on different forms. This yajna has been finished to a large extent. When it is nearing completion, the demons – Maari:cha and Subaahu are hindering its conclusion. They are courageous and skilled. They are showering blood and flesh on the altar of the yajna and polluting it. Many times it has happened thus and I left the kingdom with frustration. I am not able to curse them with anger and destroy them as it is not proper to become furious now. You give me your eldest son the righteous, valiant and curly haired Rama to kill them. Don’t hesitate that he is a young boy. I can protect him with all my power. He can destroy those demons causing obstacles in the yajna. Not only that I can assure all kinds of good things would happen to him. He will gain renown in all the three worlds.” Though not verbally, Viswamitra hinted that Rama would accomplish many amazing things like elimination of ‘Thaataka’, protection of the yajna, releasing Ahalya from her curse, breaking Siva’s bow and marriage with Sitha . Valmiki says ‘bahuru:pam sreyaha’ – many types of benefits, by saying which he indicated that Rama would achieve the above said wonderful things. To be contd… Jai Srimannarayana!
