ISKCON condemns Rajasthan govt for demolishing hills

Express News Service

Ludhiana, September 7: THE ISKCON Festival Committee (IFC), a

religious group, has condemned the Rajasthan government for

demolishing hills in Vrindavan by using dynamite.

IFC has alleged that the government has some vested interest in it.

Ludhiana IFC president Raj Surya Das said in a press conference,

"The

Rajasthan government has ignored the fact that Vrindavan has a

special mention in Hindu vedas and scriptures. Lord Krishna spent

early years of his life here while performing various miracles and

blessing his followers. The government is hurting religious

sentiments of all the Hindus''.

One of the speakers Acharya MathuraDas alleged that the BJP

government in Rajasthan has turned against Hindus which is a matter

of great shame.

He also said that the government is not only hurting the religious

sentiments of the people, but also, it is disturbing the flaura and

fauna in the state.

The government should immediately stop the demolishing drive.

IFC has also given a call for a Mahapanchayat at Barsana on September

11 on the occasion of Radha Ashtmi to discuss the issue.

The further strategy to handle the issue will be finalised during the

Mahapanchayat,said Acharya.
