Guest guest Posted September 8, 2005 Report Share Posted September 8, 2005 ISKCON condemns Rajasthan govt for demolishing hills Express News Service Ludhiana, September 7: THE ISKCON Festival Committee (IFC), a religious group, has condemned the Rajasthan government for demolishing hills in Vrindavan by using dynamite. IFC has alleged that the government has some vested interest in it. Ludhiana IFC president Raj Surya Das said in a press conference, "The Rajasthan government has ignored the fact that Vrindavan has a special mention in Hindu vedas and scriptures. Lord Krishna spent early years of his life here while performing various miracles and blessing his followers. The government is hurting religious sentiments of all the Hindus''. One of the speakers Acharya MathuraDas alleged that the BJP government in Rajasthan has turned against Hindus which is a matter of great shame. He also said that the government is not only hurting the religious sentiments of the people, but also, it is disturbing the flaura and fauna in the state. The government should immediately stop the demolishing drive. IFC has also given a call for a Mahapanchayat at Barsana on September 11 on the occasion of Radha Ashtmi to discuss the issue.
