Nanjeeyar told the following to Nampillai.

 

"I followed Pillai Thirunaraiyur Araiyar and Bhattar as they went around the

divine temple of Srirangam. While others would walk in a great hurry to finish

their pradakshinams, these two would go very slowly, drinking in with their eyes

and enjoying the divine gopurams and structures of the temple.

 

While they are similar to other people of this world in their actions such as

eating, sleeping, etc., I wondered at this difference between them and the

rest."
