Reason for the weakness of the superior Vedic Culture (it was not

destroyed)is that its followers became less dedicated to it- not

because it was only oral and not writen down. The oral and writen

traditions for preserving scriptures have existed in India side by side

from the time when Sanskrit started- this provided greater security

against destruction. The Moslem marauders did every thing to destroy

the writen scriptures, they burned every library they came across, e.g.

the libraries at Nalanda & Taxila Universities in India & the one at

Alexanderia in Egypt. Because they were fanatics and believed that

their's was the only true religion and all others should be destroyed.

They also killed many scholars who remembered the scriptures orally.

But between these two methods of recording the scriptures, the Moslems

could not destroy all the records.

However, at I said before, the main reason was the weaknes in the Vedic

culture, that its followers became less sincere and corrupt.
