Training of Purohits

For Hindu

organizations and temples abroad Hindu Heritage Pratisthan has trained

33 Purohits who can perform Archana and Sanskaars not merely in a routine

fashion but are able to convey the meanings and significance thereof

to the devotees and to the members of families. All of them have undergone

a nine months full time residential training course at Modipuram. Their

training included Karmakaand and Sanskaars, Geeta, Upanishads, Ramayan,

Bhagavatam, Jyotish, English grammar and public speaking classes. They

also had sessions on practice of Yoga and meditation, performing kirtans,

singing bhajans. social conditions abroad, mindset of modern youth etc.

Among the trainees two belonged to Bhutan, one from Nepal and the remaining

from Karnaataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Orissa, Himachal

Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Trainees were selected on merits after

interviewing and screening a good number of candidates. They have

good knowledge of Sanskrit and working knowledge of English. They will

be able to pick up any particular language if required

by you.

Demand

for these specially trained priests has already started coming in.

We hope that your organization would also like to make use of the services

trainees have been given a clear idea of the tasks they would have to perform

Parents have a natural desire to give a beautiful

name to their child. HHP has brought out a book “Select Hindu Names”. It

is a guide for selecting short, lovely, intelligible and meaningful names

for the children. It contains about 6,000 names to suit the tastes of religious-minded

parents as well as of those who are modern-minded. The book is particularly

suited for abroad. Permutations and combinations suggested in it enable

one to frame manifold other names to adorn a child. Names are given in

Roman with diacritical marks as well as in Devnaagri (Hindi) so that the

words are correctly pronounced and the meanings do not get distorted. Moderately

priced at Rs. 90.00 for Bharat and US $ 5.00 for abroad. Trade discount

would be available for booksellers. We hope that orders for sufficient
