Guest guest Posted February 6, 2000 Report Share Posted February 6, 2000 2 Indian American women honoured San Francisco, February 6 (IANS) TWO INDIAN American women were among 25 honoured for their pioneering role in the field of technology and for their community services in the US. Radha Basu, president and chief executive officer of Redwood and City-based Support.com, a leading supplier of electronic support solutions, and Deb Agarwal, a computer scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, were among the "Top 25 women on the Web" winners honoured by a networking and professional development organisation for women in new technologies. San Francisco Women on the Web (SF WoW) honoured the women for their achievements in the field of technology which had worldwide impact and for their pioneering role in the Internet and new media industries and for contributions to the community. Basu and Agarwal made it to the top few from a nomination pool of over 200 women from almost all continents. Prior to joining Support.com, Basu was the general manager for international software at Hewlett Packard (HP).
