Dear Friend,If you are in the process of adjusting your immigration status

fromH1B to U.S. permanent resident, please read this and distribute itto anyone

who may be interested. We are sure you have noticed that the time and effort it

takes toobtain permanent resident status in the US through

employment-basedchannels have increased dramatically in the last few years.

Thehi-tech industry is in desperate need of more highly skilled workersand

companies are now furiously lobbying Congress to get legislationpassed that

would increase the H1B cap. However, nobody isaddressing the issues that are of

utmost importance to us, thecurrent H1B workers already in the US.Take the

administrative delays in various stages of obtaining USpermanent residence, for

example. No one is expressing concern forthese delays, except for us who are

affected. Not a singleorganization exists today which solely represents the

interests oftemporary high skilled workers in the US currently entangled in

theemployment based immigration process. We have concluded that if we do not

take matters into our own hands, nobody else will. Only we know how agonizing it

is to be stuck inthe employment-based Green Card process. Only we know how it

feels tolive in fear of losing your job as an H1B visa holder. And

mostimportantly, only we know exactly how painful it is to restart thewhole

adjustment of status process when we actually do lose ourjobs. We have to do

something for ourselves, for the stability of ourlives here in the US. That is

why we have created the ImmigrantsSupport Network (ISN), the first and only

organization dedicated toaddressing issues that directly impact our lives as

H1B holders whoare stuck in the employment-based adjustment of status program.

ISNis an organization of over 10,000 current H1B visa holders who areall in the

same boat as you are. Our goals are simple: we want tobecome an organization

that ispowerful, united and effective in representing our interests

inWashington and around the country. We want to become your voice, avoice so

strong and loud that the White House, Congress, the media, and the American

public can no longer ignore it.ISN can only become this powerful voice if we

have widespreadsupport from the people we serve: the affected H1B community.

Wehave a credible strategic lobbying plan to strengthen our power andachieve

our goals.Visit our web site for more details. But we need you to join ustoday

for ISN to grow into a force both the industry and lawmakerswill have to reckon

with.Join ISN and lend your support to our cause. Unite with otherimmigrants to

advance our issues. Visit our web site athttp://www.isn.org and register as a

member. Spread the word aboutISN. Forward this notice to all your friends

stuck in the GreenCard process, whether they are students or professionals.

Informother organizations - ethnic, religious, civic or social- that maybe

interested in working with ISN about our mission and goals.Thank you.For

further information, please visit ISN website athttp://www.isn.orgShailesh

Hare Krishna!

Thanks for your reply on e-mantra from Dalai Lama.

In Vedic literature it is said that the main teaching of Lord Buddha was

'ahimsa' which is non-violence. This means no killing in any way, which

includes a vegetarian diet.

The highest authorities of Buddhism like the Dalai Lama certainly teaches

ahimsa. I have never met the Dalai Lama, however, I suppose you can be sure

that he will not touch meat either.

If you have met some Buddhist monks enjoying meat and even beef of cow, you can

be certain that these persons have not been true Buddhist monks but cheaters.

I hope you are satisfied with this answer.

Kind regards, Hare Krishna.

Indira dasi.
