Guest guest
Dear Devotees of KRSNA/God, The Devotee of the Lord is worshipable. If true Vaishnava etiquite were followed by the majority of our community, we would naturally become humble, tolerant and ready to offer ALL respect to others. By this formula, instead of tearing each other apart, we would be elevating each other. Perhaps we would make some mistakes, but it is better to error on the side of Mercy, Love and Charity than to commit oneself to the MOST dangerous and risky path of personal destruction, the merciless path of Vaishnava Aparadh. So my suggestion is that the devotees begin a committed path of Service to each other, above and beyond just service to the Dieties and the 'official' Guru and I am sure we will be protected and the solution will be provided by cultivation of the heart. Anyone can serve a Superior but it takes true humility to serve the fallen and struggling Souls on the path of Devotion. For those who would argue that this idea is simply naive and idealistic, and does not address the issues of technical application of proper etiquete and maintainance of the Disciplic succession, I respond that there can be NO question of maintaining the Sampradaya/Lineage when the very bond of the relationship that makes a Samparadaya, the Devotee community, is destroyed through Mad elephant Offenses, over and over and over again. It is quite an irony that in the attempt to maintain the Sampradaya the riskiest method of Vaishnava infighting is applied. Its kind of like destroying the family to maintain the empty house. The true purpose of the lineage is cultivating Bhakti/Devotion in the heart of each individual Devotee, thus reuiniting us with God. The primary purpose is NOT the maintainance of proper Guru worship but rather it is the proper guidance of the individual on the path Devotion. So if each individual devotee is ready to offer all respect to every other devotee, sooner rather than later, we would be reunited beyond our various isms and schisms of Rtvik, Iskcon, Gaudiya Math, True Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc. and all our differances would become ornaments of diversity rather than tools of mutual destruction. In conclusion, I believe it is more dangerous to fail to worship a Devotee than it is to worship a Devotee, So let us maintain the proper decorum in regards to the Dieties and Maha Bhagavats, but at the same time let us elevate our interpersonal interactions to a new level of respect, tolerance and yes when it is appropriate, Vaishnava Seva and Worship.
