Lets analyse: 1) the father concented for her daughter to be married. 2) the "astrologer" authorized it. 3) the Police Officer did not think any law has been violated 4) "He is superstitious, but why should I care if he wants to > waste money and give us a feast? The father is sentimental and in mode of ignorance for serving meat. The "astrologer" is a cheater. The police officer and the "astrologer" has clearly no understanding of the scriptural authority -Srimad-Bhagavatam. So breaking law or not breaking --they have not understood--in terms of Srimad-Bhagavatam. The public -neighbour is also an animal since he is only concerned with eating meat etc --unconcerned with karmic reaction--no conception of vedic understanding of honoring Krishna Prasadam.
