papasya sanksayamtasmad dikseti sa proktadesikais tattva-kovidaih"Diksa is the

PROCESS by which one can AWAKEN HIS TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGEand VANQUISH ALL

REACTIONS CAUSED BY SINFUL ACTIVITY. A person expert inthe study of the

revealed scriptures knows this process as diksa."Madhya 4.111 Diksa ACTUALLY

means initiating a disciple WITH TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE byWHICH he becomes

FREED FROM ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION.Note: the two above points both state

that WHEN TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE ISAWAKENED THE PERSON WHO HAS RECEIVED THIS

WILL NOT HAVE ANY MATERIALCONTAMINATION. ALL REACTIONS CAUSED BY SINFUL

ACTIVITY ARE AT THIS POINTVANQUISHED. ALSO AT THIS POINT THERE CANNOT BE THE

THREE MODES OF MATERIALNATURE ACTING ON THE PERSON HENCE REACTION (KARMA)

FRUITIVE ACTION STOPS. MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI RECEIVES SPIRITUAL INITIATION AND THE

UTTAMA ADHIKARI(PRABHUPADA) FULLY ENGAGES HIM IN TRANSCENDENTAL LOVING SERVICE

OF THELORD(LOVING MELLOWS--IN HIS SVARUPA--THE CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION).NoI 5

In order to intelligently apply the sixfold loving reciprocationsmentioned in

the previous verse, one MUST select proper persons withCAREFUL DISCRIMINATION.

Srila Rupa Gosvami therefore advises that we shouldmeet with the Vaisnavas in

an appropriate way, according to theirparticular status. In this verse he tells

us how to deal with three typesof devotees--the kanistha-adhikari,

madhyama-adhikari and uttama-adhikari.The kanistha-adhikari is a neophyte who

has received the hari-namainitiation from the spiritual master and IS TRYING to

chant the holy nameof Krsna. One should respect such a person within his mind as

akanistha-vaisnava. A MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI HAS RECEIVED SPIRITUAL INITIATIONFROM

THE SPIRITUAL MASTER AND HAS BEEN FULLY ENGAGED BY HIM IN THETRANSCENDENTAL

LOVING SERVICE OF THE LORD. The madhyama-adhikari should beconsidered to be

situated midway in devotional service. Theuttama-adhikari, or highest devotee,

is one who is very advanced indevotional service. An UTTAMA-ADHIKARI is not

interested in blasphemingothers, his heart is completely clean, and he has

attained the realizedstate of unalloyed Krsna consciousness. ACCORDING TO SRILA

RUPA GOSVAMI,THE ASSOCIATION AND SERVICE OF SUCH A MAHA-BHAGAVATA, OR PERFECT

VAISNAVA,ARE MOST DESIRABLE.Note: Kanistha adhikari is TRYING to chant the Holy

name BUT the MADHYAMAADHIKARI by virtue of his OFFENSELESS CHANTING has been

engaged inRELISHING LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA (SPIRITUAL INITIATION---DIKSA).

THISis called TRANSCENDENTAL KNOWLEDGE. KRISHNA'S PASTIMES ARE REFLECTED IN

HISHEART.Antya 4.192 DIKSA-kale bhakta kare atma-samarpanasei-kale krsna tare

kare atma-samaAntya 4.192 "At the time of INITIATION, when a devotee FULLY

SURRENDERS unto theSERVICE of the Lord, Krsna accepts him to be as good as

Himself.Antya 4.194 " 'The living entity who is subjected to birth and death,

when he gives upall material activities dedicating his life to Me for executing

My order,and thus acts according to My direction, at that time he REACHES

THEPLATFORM OF IMMORTALITY, and becomes fit to enjoy the spiritual bliss

ofEXCHANGE OF LOVING MELLOWS WITH ME.'MADHYAMA ADHIKARI IS FREED FROM ALL

MATERIAL CONTAMINATIONMadhya 23.6 Life' s Ultimate Goal--Love of GodheadThe

word SUDDHA-SATTVA-visesatma means "SITUATED ON THE TRANSCENDENTALPLATFORM OF

PURE GOODNESS." In this way the soul is purified OF ALLMATERIAL CONTAMINATION,

and this position is called SVARUPA-laksana, theconstitutional symptom of

BHAVA, emotion. By various tastes, one's heart issoftened, AND THERE IS AN

AWAKENING OF ONE'S LOVING PROPENSITY TO RENDERSPONTANEOUS SERVICE TO THE LORD.

This is called tatastha-laksana, themarginal symptom of bhava.WHERE THE SUN OF

KRSNA EXISTS THERE CANNOT BE DARKNESS OF MAYASB 1.2.19 The soul's activity

becomes adulterated in contact with matter, and as suchthe diseased activities

are expressed in the form of lust, desire,hankering, inactivity, foolishness

and sleep. The effect of devotionalservice becomes manifest by complete

elimination of these effects ofpassion and ignorance. The devotee is fixed at

once in the mode ofgoodness, and he makes further progress to rise to the

position ofVasudeva, or the state of unmixed sattva, or suddha-sattva. ONLY IN

THISSUDDHA-SATTVA STATE CAN ONE ALWAYS SEE KRSNA EYE TO EYE BY DINT OF

PUREAFFECTION FOR THE LORD.BHAVA REVELATION BEGINS7.83 Lord Caitanya in Five

FeaturesIn this verse it is explained that ONE WHO CHANTS THE HARE KRSNA

MANTRADEVELOPS BHAVA, ECSTASY, WHICH IS THE POINT AT WHICH REVELATION BEGINS.

Itis the PRELIMINARY STAGE in developing one's original love for God. LordKrsna

mentions this bhava stage in the Bhagavad-gita (10.8):aham sarvasya

prabhavomattah sarvam pravartateiti matva bhajante mambudha bhava-samanvitah"I

am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanatesfrom Me.

The wise who know this perfectly engage in My devotional serviceand worship Me

with all their hearts."BRAHMA SEES THROUGH REVELATION Adi 1.50 Thus when

Brahma, INITIATED BY SRI KRSNA BY THE SOUND VIBRATION tapa,engaged himself in

acts of austerity, by the pleasure of Visnu he was ABLETO VISUALIZE THE

MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI SEES KRISHNA--NO MORE THEORETICAL760211SB.MAY In the

MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI HE CAN SEE four things. What is that? Fourthings means, first

of all the Supreme Lord, isvara, the controller, HE CANSEE. He can see means he

understands, he appreciates, he can conceive,"Yes, the Supreme Lord is there".

THERE IS NO MORE THEORETICAL.MADHYAMA ADHIKARI SEES --THERE IS NO MORE

THEORETICALSB 4.8.53 Chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra is the easiest process

of meditation inthis age. As soon as one chants the Hare Krsna mantra, HE SEES

THE FORMS OFKRSNA, RAMA and Their energies, and that is the perfect stage of

trance.One should not artificially try to see the form of the Lord while

chantingHare Krsna, BUT WHEN THE CHANTING IS PERFORMED OFFENSELESSLY THE LORD

WILLAUTOMATICALLY REVEAL HIMSELF TO THE VIEW OF THE CHANTER. The

chanter,therefore, has to concentrate on hearing the vibration, and without

extraendeavor on his part, the Lord will automatically appear.DIKSA--FREED FROM

ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATIONSB 1.2.20 Thus established in the mode of UNALLOYED

GOODNESS, the man whose mindhas been enlivened by contact with devotional

service to the Lord gainsPOSITIVE SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE PERSONALITY OF

GODHEAD in the STAGE OFLIBERATION FROM ALL MATERIAL

brahmana FACTUALLY becomes a Vaisnava, IN THE ENLIVENEDSTATE OF LIBERATION HE

CAN KNOW WHAT IS ACTUALLY THE PERSONALITY OFGODHEAD.BHAVA --REVELATION BEGINSSB

1.2.21 Thus the knot in the heart is pierced, and all misgivings are cut

topieces. The chain of FRUITIVE ACTIONS IS TERMINATED WHEN ONE SEES THE SELFAS

MASTER.BHAVA ---REVELATION BEGINSSB 1.2.21 Attaining SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE of

the Personality of Godhead MEANS SEEINGONE'S OWN SELF SIMULTANEOUSLY. LOVING

SERVICE (BHAVA)---FREE FROM CHAIN OF KARMA--NO REACTION SB 1.2.21 This

enlightenment perfectly enables the devotee to distinguish spirit frommatter

because the knot of spirit and matter is untied by the Lord. Thisknot is called

ahankara, and it falsely obliges a living being to becomeidentified with matter.

As soon as this knot is loosened, therefore, allthe clouds of doubt are at once

cleared off. One sees his master and fullyengages himself in the transcendental

loving service of the Lord, making afull termination of the chain of fruitive

action. In material existence, aliving being creates his own chain of fruitive

work and enjoys the good andbad effects of those actions life after life. BUT

AS SOON AS HE ENGAGESHIMSELF IN THE LOVING SERVICE OF THE LORD, HE AT ONCE

BECOMES FREE FROM THECHAIN OF KARMA. HIS ACTIONS NO LONGER CREATE ANY

REACTION.MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI HAS THIS KNOWLEDGE OF HIS SVARUPA AND THIS BURNS TO

ASHESALL THE REACTIONS TO MATERIAL ACTIVITIES.SB 5.5.5As stated in

Bhagavad-gita (4.37):yathaidhamsi samiddho 'gnirbhasmasat kurute

'rjunajnanagnih sarva-karmanibhasmasat kurute tatha"As a blazing fire turns

firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the FIRE OFKNOWLEDGE burn to ashes all

reactions to material activities."UNLESS ONE UNDERSTANDS THE SELF AND ITS

ACTIVITIES, ONE HAS TO BECONSIDERED IN MATERIAL BONDAGE.MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI

RELISHES LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA ---THIS KNOWLEDGE OFRELATIONSHIP BURNS ALL

REACTIONS.Bg 4.37 PERFECT KNOWLEDGE OF SELF AND SUPERSELF AND OF THEIR

RELATIONSHIP ISCOMPARED HEREIN TO FIRE. This fire not only burns up all

reactions toimpious activities, but also all reactions to pious activities,

turningthem to ashes. There are many stages of reaction: reaction in the

making,reaction fructifying, reaction already achieved, and reaction a priori.

BUTKNOWLEDGE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION OF THE LIVING ENTITY

BURNSEVERYTHING TO ASHES. When one is in complete knowledge, all reactions,

botha priori and a posteriori, are consumed. In the Vedas

(Brhad-aranyakaUpanisad 4.4.22) it is stated, ubhe uhaivaisa ete taraty

amrtahsadhv-asadhuni: "One overcomes both the pious and impious reactions

ofwork."DIKSA (MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI) --ALL MATERIAL CONTAMINATION FREED.SB 9.19.25

As soon as one is FREED FROM ALL THE DIRT OF MATERIAL CONTAMINATION, asMaharaja

Yayati was, one's original position as an associate of the Lord isREVEALED.

This is called SVARUPA-SIDDHI, OR PERSONAL PERFECTION.DASYA-RASA (REALIZATION

OF ACTUAL SERVICE) MADHYAMA ADHIKARI RELISHESLOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNAMadhya

19.219 "On the platform of santa-rasa, one only realizes his

constitutionalposition. HOWEVER, WHEN ONE IS RAISED TO THE PLATFORM OF

DASYA-RASA, HEBETTER UNDERSTANDS THE FULL OPULENCE OF THE SUPREME PERSONALITY

OF GODHEAD.MADHYAMA-ADHIKARI BEGINS TO SERVE--- NITYA-DASA (ETERNAL

SERVANT)REALIZATION OF SERVICE IN SVARUPA( ACTUAL CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION) AS

SOULSRELISHING LOVING MELLOWS WITH KRISHNA.681127BG.LA Prabhupada: They become

perfect in Krsna consciousness. Liberated soulmeans... We are just trying to be

Krsna conscious. We are not actually infull Krsna consciousness. We are... Just

like a diseased person is tryingto recover. So one who is recovered, there is

no question of his healthylife. We are trying to be healthy, our present

position. So we are tryingto be Krsna conscious. So one who is liberated is

nothing but Krsnaconscious. You follow? Yes. Krsna consciousness is the

perfection of life.So we are trying to reach that platform of perfection by

regulativeprinciple. But when we are actually on the platform, there is nothing

butKrsna consciousness. THAT IS THE PERFECTION OF LIFE. THAT IS OUR

ACTUAL,LIBERATED STAGE. JIVERA SVARUPA HAYA NITYA-KRSNA-DASA. That is our

svarupa.SVARUPA MEANS ACTUAL CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION. AND MUKTI, LIBERATION,

MEANSTO COME TO THAT REAL POSITION.MADHYAMA ADHIKARI RECEIVES (DIKSA) SPIRITUAL

INITIATION RELISHES LOVINGMELLOWS WITH KRSNA IN ONE OF FIVE RELATIONSHIPS.Adi

7.73 In his Anubhasya, Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami says that

theactual effect that will be visible as soon as one achieves

TRANSCENDENTALKNOWLEDGE IS THAT HE WILL IMMEDIATELY BECOME FREE FROM THE

CLUTCHES OF MAYAAND FULLY ENGAGE IN THE SERVICE OF THE LORD. Unless one serves

the SupremePersonality of Godhead Mukunda, one cannot become free from

fruitiveactivities under the external energy. HOWEVER, WHEN ONE CHANTS THE

HOLYNAME OF THE LORD OFFENSELESSLY, ONE CAN REALIZE A TRANSCENDENTAL

POSITIONTHAT IS COMPLETELY ALOOF FROM THE MATERIAL CONCEPTION OF LIFE.

RENDERINGSERVICE TO THE LORD, A DEVOTEE RELATES TO THE SUPREME PERSONALITY

OFGODHEAD IN ONE OF FIVE RELATIONSHIPS--NAMELY, SANTA, DASYA, SAKHYA,VATSALYA

OR MADHURYA--AND THUS HE RELISHES TRANSCENDENTAL BLISS IN THATRELATIONSHIP.

Such a relationship certainly transcends the body and mind.WHEN ONE REALIZES

THAT THE HOLY NAME OF THE LORD IS IDENTICAL WITH THESUPREME PERSON, HE BECOMES

COMPLETELY ELIGIBLE TO CHANT THE HOLY NAME OFTHE LORD. Such an ecstatic chanter

and dancer must be considered to have adirect relationship with the

Lord.DIKSA--NO MATERIAL CONTAMINATION---MADHYAMA ADHIKARI.TLC 19 THE

TRANSCENDENTAL ECSTATIC ATTACHMENT FOR KRSNA WHICH RESULTS FROMPERFECTLY

UNDERSTANDING THAT KRSNA'S PERSON AND NAME ARE IDENTICAL ISCALLED BHAVA. ONE

WHO HAS ATTAINED BHAVA IS CERTAINLY NOT CONTAMINATED BYMATERIAL NATURE. HE

ACTUALLY ENJOYS TRANSCENDENTAL PLEASURE FROM BHAVA, ANDWHEN BHAVA IS

INTENSIFIED, IT IS CALLED LOVE OF GODHEAD. Lord Caitanya toldPrakasananda

Sarasvati that the holy name of Krsna, called the maha-mantra(great chanting),

enables anyone who chants it TO ATTAIN THE STAGE OF LOVEOF GODHEAD, OR

INTENSIFIED BHAVA.NO PHYSICAL BARRIERS TO DIKSATHIS IS THE POWER OF

MAHA-BHAGAVATA PRABHUPADA. BY HIS WORDS(BOOKS, TAPES)HE CAN PENETRATE THE HEART

OF THE SUFFERING AND INJECT TRANSCENDENTALKNOWLEDGE. HE IS GIVING THE HOLY NAME

IN HIS BOOKS AND THE HOLY NAME IS HISPROPERTY TO GIVE. ONLY ONE HAS TO CHANT

OFFENSELESS THEN HE CAN ACTUALLYRECEIVE DIKSA (SPIRITUAL INITIATION). Adi 1.35

There is NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SPIRITUAL MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND

THESPIRITUAL MASTER HIMSELF. In his absence, therefore, HIS WORDS OF

DIRECTIONSHOULD BE THE PRIDE OF THE DISCIPLE.Note: Prabhupada's words of

direction----Srimad-Bhagavatam there is nodifference between Prabhupada's

Instruction and himself.(theuttama-adhikari is powerful to give diksa from his

be present simultaneously in millions of places.Similarly, the Spiritual Master

also can be present WHEREVER THE DISCIPLEWANTS. A Spiritual Master is the

principle, not the body. Just like atelevision can be seen in thousands of

places by the principle of relaymonitoring.Prabhupada is not for mere 5000

disciples---he isMaha-bhagavata(JAGAD-GURU) who is CAPABLE TO GIVE DIKSA TO

ANYONE WHO WANTSTO BE COME DISCIPLINED BY HIM(DISCIPLE--DEFINITION). SO LONG

HIS BOOKS AREHERE HE REMAINS PRESENT TO GIVE ANYONE (DESERVING BY

CHANTINGOFFENSLESS--MADHYAMA ADHIKARI) DIKSA 10,000YEARS?WHAT IS THE PROOF THAT

PRABHUPADA IS UNABLE TO GIVE DIKSA (MADHYAMAADHIKARI STAGE) TO THE GENERATIONS

OF DEVOTEES TO COME? IS THERE EVEN ONEPROOF? AND BECAUSE WE HAVE CLEARLY

ESTABLISHED SRILA PRABHUPADA IS GIVINGDIKSA AND WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE DIKSA FOR

THE COMING GENERATIONS OFDEVOTEES THERE IS NO NEED TO IMITATE HIM IS

THERE?BESIDES THIS IF AN ACARYA IS TO SUCCEED PRABHUPADA IN GIVING DIKSA THAN

HEHAS TO BE PROMINENT BUT AT THE MOMENT ALL SECTIONS OF SOCIETY ARE QUOTINGONLY

PRABHUPADA SO HE IS PROMINENT (authority)----SO HE IS TO BE ACCEPTED.68-04-12:

DayanandaRegarding parampara system: THERE IS NOTHING TO WONDER FOR BIG

GAPS.Just like we belong to the Brahma Sampradaya, so we accept it from

Krishnato Brahma, Brahma to Narada, Narada to Vyasadeva, Vyasadeva to Madhva,

andbetween Vyasadeva and Madhva there is a big gap. But it is sometimes

saidthat Vyasadeva is still living, and Madhva was fortunate enough to meet

himdirectly. In a similar way, we find in the Bhagavad-gita that the Gita

wastaught to the sungod, some millions of years ago, but Krishna has

mentionedonly three names in this parampara system--namely, Vivasvan, Manu,

andIksvaku; and so these gaps do not hamper from understanding the

paramparasystem. WE HAVE TO PICK UP THE PROMINENT ACARYAS, AND FOLLOW FROM

HIM.There are many branches also from the parampara system, and it is

notpossible to record all the branches and sub-branches in the

disciplicsuccession. We have to pick up from the authority of the acharya

inwhatever sampradaya we belong to.ANOTHER POINT --IF ANOTHER ACARYA COMES WHAT

WILL HE GIVE US THAT SRILAPRABHUPADA HAS NOT ALREADY GIVEN US? HE HAS GIVEN US

EVERYTHING!Madhya 16.74 sastra-yuktye sunipuna, drdha-sraddha

yanra'UTTAMA-ADHIKARI' SE TARAYE SAMSARA"If one is expert in Vedic literature

and has full faith in the SupremeLord, then he is AN UTTAMA-ADHIKARI, A

FIRST-CLASS VAISNAVA, A TOPMOSTVAISNAVA WHO CAN DELIVER THE WHOLE WORLD AND

TURN EVERYONE TO KRSNACONSCIOUSNESS." (Cc. Madhya 22.65) PRABHUPADA IS

UTTAMA-ADHIKARI HE HAS GOT KRISHNA IN HIS HEART AND KRISHNAIS THE PROPERTY OF

HIS PURE DEVOTEE ONLY. ONLY HE CAN GIVE HIM TO OTHERS.THUS GIVING KRISHNA (HOLY

NAME) TO ANOTHER PERSON BY UTTAMA ADHIKARI ISDIKSA. BY GIVING THE HOLY NAME HE

IS DELIVERING FROM MATERIALCONTAMINATION. BY THIS RECEIVING OF THE HOLY NAME IN

OFFENSELESS CHANTINGMADHYAMA ADHIKARI ALSO SEES THE PASTIMES OF KRISHNA BEING

REFLECTED IN HISOWN HEART. KRISHNA IS NOT THE PROPERTY OF CONDITIONED SOUL TO

GIVE. SO HOWCAN DIKSA BE TRANSMITTED INTO ANOTHERS HEART FORM A CONDITIONED

SOUL!!THEREFORE SEEING THE CONDITION OF SOCIETY PRABHUPADA ALLOWED THIS

RITVIKINITIATION CEREMONY BY GIVING THE FORMALITY OF SPIRITUAL NAME ETC. THIS

ISWHAT IS BEING GIVEN NOW! ALSO, BUT THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE ADDRESSED

ASRITVIKS. ONLY PRABHUPADA IS ABLE TO GIVE THE HOLY NAME AS UTTAMA ADHIKARI.THE

HOLY NAME HIS (UTTAMA ADHIKARIS) PROPERTY AND ONLY HE CAN DELIVER. JUST LIKE

SANJAYA SAW THE PASTIMES OF KRSNA (BHAGAVAD GITA) BEING REFLECTEDIN HIS HEART

SO ALSO SRILA PRABHUPADA IS SEEING KRSNA.SB 1.6.33 The Absolute Personality of

Godhead is not different from Histranscendental name, form, pastimes and the

sound vibrations thereof. ASSOON AS A PURE DEVOTEE ENGAGES HIMSELF IN THE PURE

DEVOTIONAL SERVICE OFHEARING, CHANTING AND REMEMBERING THE NAME, FAME AND

ACTIVITIES OF THELORD, AT ONCE HE BECOMES VISIBLE TO THE TRANSCENDENTAL EYES OF

PERSON IS ABLE TO HAVE THE TELEVISIONOF THE KINGDOM OF GOD ALWAYS REFLECTED

WITHIN HIS HEART. That is themystery of knowledge of the Personality of

PRABHUPADA!NOTE ALSO VASUDEVA IS UNALLOYED DEVOTEE THIS IS WHY HE IS ABLE TO

CARRYKRSNA IN HIS HEART-----AND--TRANSFER HIM (HIS PROPERTY--PURE DEVOTEE).SB

10.2.18 As indicated here by the word manastah, the Supreme Personality

ofGodhead was transferred from the core of Vasudeva's mind or heart to thecore

of the heart of Devaki. We should note carefully that the Lord wastransferred

to Devaki not by the ordinary way for a human being, but bydiksa, initiation.

Thus the importance of initiation is mentioned here.UNLESS ONE IS INITIATED BY

THE RIGHT PERSON, WHO ALWAYS CARRIES WITHIN HISHEART THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF

GODHEAD, ONE CANNOT ACQUIRE THE POWER TOCARRY THE SUPREME GODHEAD WITHIN THE

CORE OF ONE'S OWN HEART.THE THIRD OFFENSE IN CHANTING THE HOLY NAME IS TO

DISOBEY THE ORDERS OF THESPIRITUAL MASTER (PRABHUPADA) NOW CONSIDER THE

FOLLOWING:DO NOT BECOME SPIRITUAL MASTER UNLESS YOU ARE UTTAMA ADHIKARI.DO NOT

BECOME DISCIPLE OF ANYONE BUT UTTAMA ADHIKARI.THIS IS DISOBEYING MEANS NO

DIKSA!--ADVANCEMENT CHECKED CANNOT SEE KRSNA INHEART! NO TELEVISION IN HEART!

NoI 5 In this verse Srila Rupa Gosvami advises the devotee to be

intelligentenough to distinguish between the kanistha-adhikari,

madhyama-adhikari anduttama-adhikari. The devotee should also know his own

position and shouldnot try to imitate a devotee situated on a higher platform.

SrilaBhaktivinoda Thakura has given some practical hints to the effect that

anuttama-adhikari Vaisnava can be recognized by his ability to convert

manyfallen souls to Vaisnavism. ONE SHOULD NOT BECOME A SPIRITUAL MASTER

UNLESSHE HAS ATTAINED THE PLATFORM OF UTTAMA-ADHIKARI. A neophyte Vaisnava or

aVaisnava situated on the intermediate platform can also accept disciples,but

such disciples must be on the same platform, AND IT SHOULD BEUNDERSTOOD THAT

THEY CANNOT ADVANCE VERY WELL TOWARD THE ULTIMATE GOAL OFLIFE UNDER HIS

INSUFFICIENT GUIDANCE. THEREFORE A DISCIPLE SHOULD BECAREFUL TO ACCEPT AN

UTTAMA-ADHIKARI AS A SPIRITUAL MASTER.PRABHUPADA IS MAHA-BHAGAVATA WHO IS

topmost platform of devotional service.There are three classes of devotees, and

the guru MUST be accepted from thetopmost class. Madhya 24.330When one has

attained the TOPMOST POSITION OF MAHA-BHAGAVATA, he is to beaccepted as a guru

and worshiped exactly like Hari, the Personality ofGodhead. ONLY SUCH A PERSON
