Guest guest
Blast demolished Masjid, says RSS chief Express News Service Thiruvananthapuram, December 8: RSS chief K S Sudarsan today said Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992, through an explosion and alleged that the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao and some of his Cabinet colleagues were responsible for the act. Addressing a public meeting here, the RSS chief exonerated Bajrang Dal and VHP, saying that the volunteers of these organisations took away only the plastering of the building on that fateful day. They had no hand in the further demolition of the building. BJP leaders L K Advani, M M Joshi and Uma Bharati, who were chargesheeted in the case, too were innocent. Sudarsan said a powerful device was exploded inside the Masjid tomb with the connivance of the Congress Government to raze the building. ``This was a grand conspiracy. The revelations of Nirmala Deshpande the other day are significant. This is only part of the story. There is more to come,'' he claimed. The RSS chief went on to say that he chanced upon a fax message sent by a Maharashtra Congress leader to P V Narasimha Rao on December 10, 1996, which clearly spoke of the role of `kitchen Cabinet' around Rao in the demolition of the Masjid. Sudarsan criticised the Congress action of stalling the Parliament for the last three days, demanding the ouster of Joshi, Advani and Uma Bharati in connection with the demolition of the Masjid. ``These leaders tried their best to calm down an emotional gathering who assembled around the Masjid in the Ramjanmabhumi.'' The RSS chief in his two-hour-long speech called for the indigenisation of Christian churches and integration of the Muslim community to the great Indian culture which could be traced back to several thousands of years. Sudarsan criticised the Roman Catholic Church for standing in the way of the demand for a national church in the country. This was negation of history as national churches came into being in countries like Britain, Denmark, Norway, Russia and Italy by breaking away from the hegemony of Roman Catholic Church. Several Christian groups like the Malankara Church had supported the idea of a national church. ``A representative of Malankara Church recently met me and told their strong support for the idea,'' the RSS chief added. He further said that Pope John Paul II misused his Indian hospitality when he proclaimed from this soil that the mission of the Catholic Church in the third millennium was to convert people of Asian countries to Christianity. Roman Catholic Church was also the lone voice in the recent all- religious meeting in New York which opposed the concept that all faiths lead to salvation. ``The Catholic Church even does not accept other Christian denominations as equal to it.'' According to the RSS chief, the separatist movements in northeastern states were being funded and supported by Baptist Mission Church. BNLF, TNLF and NNLF were all instigated by the Baptist missionaries. ``Praying to Saraswathy in schools or sporting tilaks in those areas coming under the sway of the insurgency movements have been prohibited,'' he said. Sudarsan also wondered at the reluctance of Muslim community in the country to accept their Indian hereditary. ``Even Muslims in Indonesia do not have any qualms in accepting Rama and Krishna as their ancestors and they also hold Ramayana and Mahabharata in high esteem.'' 2000 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd. RSS chief drops a bombshell on Babri demolition 'Structure was not demolished but was blasted from inside` Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 8 (UNI) In a major revelation, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) Chief K S Sudarshan said tonight that the Babri Masjid was not demolished by ''Kar Sevaks,'' but was devastated by an explosion triggered from inside the masjid. '' Today I want to share a secret with you. The truth has started trickling in and the truth will come out fully very soon,'' he said while addressing RSS workers at the Puthericandam maidan here. Mr Sudarshan said the ''kitchen cabinet'' of the then Congress (I) Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao was aware of this explosion. In this context, Mr Sudarshan said he had seen a fax message sent by a Congress(I) leader of Maharashtra on December 10,1992, in this regard. Mr Sudarshan said immediately after the demolition of the Babri Masjid, the second line leaders of the BJP reported that there were Marathi speaking people inside the masjid. ''The matters narrated in the fax message of the Maharashtra leader and the presence of the Marathi speaking people were not a coincidence.'' ''Many political conspiracies were behind the demolition,'' Mr Sudarshan said. He said the ''Kar Sevaks'' only managed to remove the plaster of the disputed site. When Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and Mr L K Advani tried to pacify the kar sevaks, the structure came down due to a blast.'' Referring to the ongoing agitation of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha demanding resignation of three central ministers for their alleged role in the demolition of Babri Masjid, Mr Sudarshan asked: ''What about the people with whose tacit knowledge the disputed structure was brought down?``
