Nitish slams WTO agreement

HTC

(New Delhi)

There are "glaring flaws" in the WTO Agreement on Agriculture which

heavily favours the industrialised countries, said Union Agriculture

Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday.

Addressing a seminar on National Agriculture Policy and Food Security

organised by the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of

Administration, Mussoorie, he said India needs to squarely address

these issues to establish a fair agricultural trading system to

ensure "a level playing field" for all WTO members. He urged for

vigilance to ensure India is not used as a dumping ground.
