Guest guest
VHP angers sadhus Kumbh Nagar, Jan. 17: The VHP attempt to use the sadhus of the Dharam Sansad to hype the Ram temple issue is likely to be nixed as all- powerful Akhara Parishad has called for a boycott of the Sangh Parivar exercise. The Dharam Sansad was expected to approve of the model of the Ram temple put together by the VHP and approve for a date for the construction of the temple. The All India Akhara Parishad, the apex body of 13 akharas, warned all sadhus and sants that it had nothing to do with the Dharam Sansad and anyone attending it will be boycotted as well. The main grouse of the AIAP is that it sees the VHP hijacking the issue. Blasting the VHP for "politicising the Ram Temple issue," parishad publicity secretary Shree Mahant Govindanand said, "the VHP has no right to talk about the Ram temple since it is not a party in this case.If the government hands over the disputed land to us, we would construct the Ram temple after reaching an amicable settlement with the Muslims," he said He said the 26-member Akhara Parishad along with the four Shankaracharyas and member of the Bharat Sadhu Samaj would chalk-out future course of action in this regard. "We may even consider holding an open session on the lines of Dharam Sansad of the dharmacharyas to discuss the matter," he said. Swami Govindanand said, "We have another model of the Ram temple, which will be constructed at the birth place of Ram in Ayodhya if the government hands over the acquired land to us." Bharat Seva Samaj general secretary Swami Hari Narayanand charged the VHP with politicising the issue in view of the coming Assembly elections. Naryanand said the VHP and the BJP should leave this issue for Hindus and Muslims and the two communities would amicably. Ramashray Das, mahant of the Nirmohi Akhara, which is party in the Ram Janamabhoomi title case, said the issue was now in the court and it could not be discussed in the Dharam Sansad. President of the Paneh Agni Akhara Shree Mahant Gopalnandji, who is also a member of the Ram Janambhoomi Punurddhar Committee, said, "The VHP is not serious about construction of the temple." Shankaracharya of the Jagannath Peeth Puri Nischalanand Saraswati said a committee comprising the four Shankaracharyas, and other respected saints should be formed to take up the issue of Ram temple construction.
