"Chinese people and armed forces treasure the all-weather and all- dimensional friendship between China and Pakistan, and will continue to make efforts to promote bilateral all round cooperative partnership in the new century," Chinese Defence Minister General Chi Haotian said. "China and Pakistan are good neighbors, friends and partners sharing weal and woe, and the relations between the two armed forces are the manifestation of the bilateral all-weather friendship," Chi, who is also vice-chairman of China's central military commission, told chief of general staff of Pakistani army Muhammad Yousaf Khan. "The two peoples of China and Pakistan, during their contacts in the long past, have established a deep friendship with mutual understanding, sympathy and support," the official Xinhua news agency quoted him as saying.
