SRIMATI JADURANI DASI TO HEAD UP VAISNAVA ART CAMP IN VRINDAVAN -

APPLICATIONS BEING TAKEN NOW FOR SEPTEMBER TERM!

Vrindavan, India, reported by Dhrstadyumna das

Senior Prabhupada disciple and former BBT artist, Srimati Jadurani dasi

(also known affectionately as Syamarani dasi), is accepting applications for

the first of a series of "Vaisnava Art Camps" to be held in Vrindavan (and

Puri this year also because of Purusottam Vrata Parikrama) starting

September 15th, 2001. Enrollment will be limited to 20 artists for this

first Camp.

Applications are due by August 20th. All tuition fees are due on arrival in

US Dollars.

Scholarships may be available - please indicate amount needed to be

subsidized on your application.

The goals of this (and future) "Vaisnava Art Camp(s)" is/are:

1. To form a team of artists to create "windows to the Spiritual Sky"; as

extensively instructed to her by her diksha-guru, Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami

Prabhupada, and her siksha-guru, Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami

Maharaja. For an example of the standard to be achieved, please see her

famous "Seva Kunja" painting, available at www.gaudiya.net/art.

2. To complete a set of paintings for a specific publication. We have at

least 6 books in the pipeline that need at least 120 paintings in the next

couple of years.

The Vaisnava Art College has excellent accommodations and working facilities

in Vrindavan with full-time cook, cleaner, and launderer. Although some art

supplies and materials will be available and also you can purchase many

materials cheaply in Mathura and Vrndavana and Delhi, still it is good if

you can bring whatever paints paper, brushes, paper-pallets, turpentine,

etc. you can carry without problem.

The A. Schedule and B. Fee for various fall term options is as follows:

A. SCHEDULE

I. September 15 to October 30:

Vrindavan. Developing sketches and beginning

work on paintings.

II. Optional: October 1 to 15: Puri.

for other books, meetings with Srila BV Narayana Maharaja for guidance.

Those who don't go to Puri may continue working in Vrindavan. Extra charges

V. Optional: December 7 onwards: Remain in Vrindavan and continue working on

devotional art projects. If there is enough interest, help will be arranged

to find permanent living and working facilities. Although at this point,

Srimati Syamarani dasi will be travelling internationally for most of the
