Fromthe January, 2001 issue of The Astrological Magazine

The closing months of 2001 may be particularly fragile for the people of

Jammu and Kashmir. Heightened violence from Pakistani infiltrators and

Talibani militants will splatter the valley with blood. The Ram Janmabhoomi

issue dominates the scene but no headway is foreseen.

India

The 23rd degree of Pisces rises in Capricorn Navamsa at New Delhi, the

capital of India. The Ascendant falls in a Jupiterean sign and with Jupiter

in the 3rd house of communications, expansion, growth and progress, India is

poised for bigger strides in this sector which includes info technology and

software....

Our Neighbours

The 8th degree of Pisces rises in Virgo Navamsa at Karachi which is not

speaking much in favor of the country returning to civilian rule this lunar

year. With no fundamental policy changes in the changing global scenario,

the military ruler's misdeeds and bad governance will generate new

problems...

Astrologically, Sri Lanka appears to continue in a state of violent ferment

with peace nowhere in sight for the hapless people of this island. The

separatist forces grow stronger in the lunar year Vishu, the 23rd degree of

Pisces rising in Capricorn Navamsa at Colombo with its ruler Saturn joined

by the warring Mars...

USA

The 7th degree of Libra rising in Scorpio Navamsa at Washington promises a

fairly bountiful year for the Americans. At the same time, the Martian

aspect on the 8th house holds forebodings of a grim nature and also a

national tragedy. The retrogression of Mars though favorable for the dollar

initially, can produce quite contrary results later and also carry seeds of

violence for the White House...

The retrogression of Mars in Scorpio warns against developments rousing the

ire of the Arab world against the United States. The military will also be

restless with over-activity, toppling and replacing leaders in neighbouring

countries...
