We saw what CIA didn't: Astrologers

By V K Rastogi in Lucknow

Terror in the US has intensified the war on the astro-turf in India.

Astrologer Daya Shankar, who had predicted the US tragedy in

the Times of Astrologers says that he and other Vedic

astrologers would use the US tragedy to argue against the

petition filed by those opposing Vedic Astrology as a subject in

university curricula.

The UGC introduced the subject at the instance of Union Human

Resource Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi who is a former

Professor of Physics, Allahabad University.

Many teachers and votaries of "scientific temper" are opposing

the introduction of Vedic astrology as a subject.

The astrologers' petition filed in the Supreme Court states: "It is

now understood how the unseen can be seen with the help of

Vedic astrology."

Eminent astrologers, including Daya Shankar, shall tell the

Supreme Court that what US Intelligence could not see, the

wisdom of Vedic astrologers did.

Several Indian astrological magazines had also predicted the

Nepal regicide and imposition of military rule in Pakistan, say

Lucknow astrologers Subedar Singh and Dr. Nirdwanand Misra.

Meanwhile Jyotir Vigyan Astrology got a green signal from the

Board of studies of Lucknow University despite shift opposition

from rationalists like former Vice- Chancellor Professor Roop

Rekha Verma.

Many Lucknow and Varanasi astrologers pointed out how

astrologers from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari had opposed the

date August 15, 1947 as the day for granting independence.

But Nehru and Lord Mountbatten branded them as fools. They

recall the prediction that India would be beset by problems if

August 15, 1947 was chosen as Independence Day. The

astrologers had claimed it was "a day accursed by stars".

Meanwhile, the astrological magazine Future Samachar in its

August 2001 issue had predicted that Osama Bin Laden would

"come to an end" in June 2002. The prediction has been made

in the article written by Pandit Nand Kishore Nanuram Sharma.

Noted astrologer Daya Shankar who predicted the September 11

U.S. tragedy in his article "World Prediction For the Year 2001"

(January 2001) issue further predicts that the U.S. may also have

to face chemical and water poisoning. He had predicted

explosion in US buildings.

According to him, Pakistan would side with US instead of

Afghanistan. The stars are now in favour of Pakistan, not India,

he said.
