Guest guest
US and Israel cannot save India from destruction: Syed Salahuddin Updated on 2001-05-15 12:46 ISLAMABAD, May 15 (PNS): Chairman of United Jihad Council and Supreme Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Syed Salahuddin said the US and Israel cannot save India from destruction and the only way India can save itself from disintegration similar to the Soviet Union is by solving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmir people and the UN resolutions. In an interview with Al Jazira, a Saudi newspaper, the Hizb leader said that India's ceasefire is an eyewash to conceal its notorious designs from the international community. He said if India accepts Kashmir as a disputed territory and agrees on holding tripartite talks then the Mujahideen would give them a positive response. He said India's traditional stubborn attitude has put the peace in south Asia at stake. Three wars have already been fought between India and Pakistan on this dispute and the possible fourth war, which would be a nuclear war, would lead to massive destruction. Syed Salahuddin said the Kashmir movement has entered a decisive phase and India is trying everything possible to sabotage the movement however the Kashmiris would foil any such attempts of India. He further added that any further delay in the resolve of this pending dispute could lead to India's destruction and then not even its closest allies US and Israel could save it. In response to a question, Syed Salahuddin said the Mujahideen can easily target any Indian installation and the Indians have been suffering constant defeat at the hands of the Mujahideen for the past 12 years and defeat has been written in their fate. In response to a question regarding the Palestine Intifadah, the Hizb chief said the Intifadah is having a positive impact on the Kashmir movement, it is a source of inspiration for the Kashmir Mujahideen and the Kashmir people have always prayed that their struggle against the oppressive un-Islamic elements would bear fruit. In response to another question regarding the refusal by the Iraqi government to grant visa to the Chief Minister Kashmir Farooq Abdullah he said this step shows that Iraq supports the Kashmir movement and we hope that other Islamic countries would take similar concrete measures for aiding the Kashmiris in their just cause of attaining freedom.
